Hi Matt (I assume)

Welcome to the Forum.

Posting a technical question in the X300 model specific area , rather than regional intros, may get some more knowledgeable eyeballs on your issue

The x300 area is here https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-xj6-xjr6-x300-26/

Hi there,

I know the thread is somewhat old now but I've just recently joined and my profile with some photos is in the new members thread. Nice to see a few Aussies and Kiwis in this forum.

Cheers

Yes Steve,

I couldn't agree more but Covid lockdowns are killing opportunities to do what Jaguar owners do best and go touring!!! But will this suffice???

A quick pit stop in southern New South Wales as we head north to see the Darling River in flood. A 2,600 km three day blat that was done effortlessly and in total comfort. The XF ran perfectly as it always has since new!!!

Old Man, New member, New Jaguar Owner too
Hello to ALL,
After having a LOT of cars over a lot more years, I've now combined as much as i can on a pensioner's income, my passion with my parsimonious personality and purchased my first Jaguar, dubbed Mick by my wife. Mick is an MY10 3.0L XF S diesel. I'm based in Bendigo but with children and grandchildren and other family in Melbourne, I'm very familiar with the roads that connect the two places. I have heard stories about Jaguars arriving outside of workshops and the prices for all services spontaneously being adjusted upwards by 75%. It's based on the assumption I suppose that we Jaguar owners are rich or dim or a combination of the two and I'm hoping to avoid such categorizations now that I'm a member of the tribe! I'm hopeful that I can be pointed in the direction of an honest and competent mechanic or workshop to do a belts and water pump replacement job SOON. The previous owner tells me all was done at 100,000km; Mick is now approaching 180,000km and the security loving part of me wants to get the job done now while there's still some margin of safety. I DO look forward to all of the collective wisdom,
Best Regards to ALL

Well, after being quiet for nearly a decade I thought I should drop in. My XF diesel has just passed ten years old, and we need a second car as MrsG is going full time, so I have indulged myself with an F-type. Unfortunately I can't collect it yet as my garage door broke a few weeks ago and I'm waiting for the new one to arrive.

Hi guys pretty quiet on the jag front here..I have been busy aquiring cars, a 1978 series 2 xj6 from sydney in british racing green (now for sale) and a 1975 series 2 from tassy , colour green sand with green interior. This is to go with the kingfisher blue xj40 on club plates, and series one that needs a full resto but has a lot of good bits on it from an unfinished resto in the past.
