i'm willing to pay the premium to have a euro hot rod
but the car i drove sounded nothing like this, in fact for all the talk of the crackles and pops, i didn't hear any of it - and i did have exhaust open
for all the f-type experts, do we get a neutered exhaust in aus?

I may be wrong but I doubt the car in the clip has a standard exhaust.
Spires UK specialise in late model Jag exhausts. I have a stage 1 fitted to my XKR that deletes the two centre mufflers. Excellent sound, quality stainless exhaust that fitted perfectly in under an hour.
If you want the sound to fit the looks of the car then you may have to go down that path.
Hi all, just joined, getting my '64 Daimler 2.5 V8 back on the road after a long time sitting in my shed here in Panton Hill. Look forward to going on a few runs once we're up and rego'd.
Anybody recommend a good (friendly) rwc issuer in the northern or Eastern suburbs?

EDIT: that was a few years ago now,but worth a phone call.
organised through jag brighton, i had a loaner for full day a few weeks ago - v8 coupe rwd and loved it. i posted a fair bit about my experience in the f-type section, but cliffs;
- dampening is spot on for aussie b roads
- chassis feels super tight and i quite liked the challenge of finding limit of traction, and correcting oversteer after being accustomed to point and shoot awd cars of last few years
- sound was all there, and i actually learned how they manipulate the throttle in those videos to make the burble go off like crazy
- nav felt a little laggy and old school graphics, really glad they freshened this up in current model
was deliberating for a while whether to go awd or rwd, but decided on rwd with thought itll add another dimension of fun to the driving experience. i ended up ordering an my16 v8 coupe in rwd - storm grey with ivory interior and every single option incl. the carbon ceramics with forged wheels, sport kit, black exterior pack, 770w sound system etc (the actual number of options is baffling and a bit concerning at this price point)
will be a long wait now till end of year when it's due to arrive and look identical to this
Welcome to the forums , hope you enjoy them and the car. An XJS, I'm jealous :-)
Lots of good info and support here , especially with keeping the V12 happy.
We are having a run on April 10 if you are interested in coming across and making a (probably long) weekend of it. Appreciate its a long hike from your region.

Thanks for the welcome.
As much as I'd love to come across I'm already committed for April with work and a 4wd trip to the Wangaratta area.
i've had my f-type for a couple months ago, was a long wait, order to build to delivery of around 8 months, but well worth it to get the exact build spec i wanted - v8 rwd coupe in the new for my16 storm grey, ivory leather, and every option incl. ceramic brakes and suede rooflining
really enjoying it, very impressed with how far jag have come with these current cars, build quality, dampening, steering feel, drivetrain, are all very high quality
Hi, I live in Langwarrin and have a 1983 XJS V12 that has been modified by Arden in Germany and has a non factory 5 speed manual gearbox. Also a 1986 XJS V12 and a 1979 s2 XJ12 (currently off the road waiting engine installation). Love driving the big cats as often as I can afford the fuel!

Hey Jeff, Welcome to the forum. Ive got a 95 XJ6, while I was doing research and many times since. I found that most jag web searchers end up here.
So joined up straight after purchase.
There about 5 of us from Victoria that catch up a few times a year for a Drive.
A new member as of today and Jaguar owner for over 35 years, would be very interested in getting together with people in my locale of Gippsland (Longford - 11km out of Sale)
Add 1 more for Gippsland (Longford, formally from Bairnsdale
In the 3 weeks I have had my XKR a number of people have stopped me to talk about it. I won't name them without their permission but they one had an e-type in Bairnsdale (if not you!) and another from Sale with an e-type.
