Default Any particular fuel for F-Type R?

Hi,

What brand of fuel do Canadian F-Type R owners use? Has anyone noticed different responses from the car depending on the fuel?

I've been using Husky 91 Octane on my '08 Subaru STi, as it was recommended by local tuners. The car seemed to like it.

Thanks

Only a Top Tier brand of a premium fuel.

I don’t think Husky qualifies.

Thanks Guy,

Was intending on one of the major brands (Shell, Esso, Petro-Canada, etc.) I’m not loyal to Husky, so will go where I can get highest octane fuel and one that is on the top tier list.

I've been using 91 octane from PetroCan in my '97 XK8 for the last 2 years and have had no issues.

I purchase ethanol-free 91 octane. Here it is available from Shell.

What are the concerns with fuel containing ethanol - the alcohol damaging any rubber lines, or condensation. I've been using PetroCanada 94, but may switch to Shell V-Power 91 if folks think it a better fuel.

Not sure of the exact problem with using high ethanol fuel in the AJ133 (or AJ126) but I have read in many places that those engines are not designed for greater than 10% ethanol fuel and my copy of the Owner Manual says, quote:
"ETHANOL
This vehicle is not suitable for use with
fuels containing more than 10% ethanol.
Do not use E85 fuels (85% ethanol
content). The equipment necessary for
the use of fuels containing more than
10% ethanol is not fitted to this vehicle.
If E85 fuels are used, serious engine and
fuel system damage will occur.
Fuels containing up to 10% ethanol (grain
alcohol) may be used. Make sure that the fuel
has octane ratings no lower than those
recommended for unleaded fuel. Most drivers
will not notice any operating difference with fuel
containing ethanol. If a difference is detected,
the use of conventional unleaded fuel should
be resumed.
Brazil only
This vehicle is not suitable for use with
fuels containing more than 25% ethanol.
Vehicles intended for sale in Brazil can use E22
fuel."
