Welcome, Nice looking car Bobe.
For Parts: check out the Vendor Directory under Marketplace, I've used several and they are very helpful. Not all will ship to Canada but I have a delivery service I use in the states.
For Tech Advice: Look at the "Stickys" in the XK8/XKR section a wealth of information is there.
Do your homework and ask for help, and don't forget to wave

Welcome Bobe to the forum...great looking beasty.
NAPA carries some parts and even CTC(crappy tire). Lots of searching for dealer alternative sources to save those bucks. Check out the main forums for advice for that MY car. ie; secondary chain tensioners are one of the most worriesome faults of these cars.

If you can do repairs yourself thats a great money saver in labour cost and satisfaction of doing it.

Regards, Richard

Hi Richard. I am a new '03 XKR owner. From what i have read about chain tensioners, the issue was fixed in 2002, when they went with the "2nd generation" tensioner, so I wan't too worried about them. Is this something I should still worry about?

According to other posts you should be ok with the tensioners for that Model year.

Good looking XK man, congrats on the purchase! I am also in the Toronto area, and a fairly active member in the community.

If you're looking for advise on parts and service, don't hesitate to contact me. send me a private message and I will reply with my phone number,

I also help organize meets and scenic drives for toronto area jaguar owners,
so if you're looking to enjoy a group drive through the country this summer in that open top XK, make sure you get in touch!

Car looks great, bobe!

In your area the garages who consider themselves jaguar dealer alternatives, in no special order, are Cats Cradle in TO, Birkshire in Thornhill, Bretton's in Burlington, and others closer to me but that's in St.Catharines. I cannot, however, vouch for the integrity of said garages simply because I have not used them.

Welcome to JaguarForums.com!

I would add Westminster Motors to the list of alternative service resources to the Toronto based list. I've had direct experience with them and found the service and Jaguar specific knowledge to be excellent.
