Default Detailing Engine Super Charger

I want to properly clean the small nooks and crannies around the super charger on my '01 Jaguar XKR. Small amounts of dirt and oil are present that just brushing will not remove.

Should I try a liquid interior cleaner or something stronger for the engine area? Can anyone recommend a cleaner that will not leave a residue.

I show the car in Concours and have received deductions on repeated occasions.

Thank you for your help.

Thanks Gus, I will try the Simple Green spray, but use with a water spray bottle instead of the hose.

Hi Gus, checked out your engine cleaning routine, and I have to say, quite similar to mine!
I also use a garden hose set to sprinkle I guess you'd say and a brush ( I find a 1" and 2" paint brush work well ) with a trigger gun full of APC ( all purpose cleaner ) or similar. I do leave the engine running as this helps to dry it out quicker and have never had any problems.
Once its all cleaned I will definitely take it for a short spin to clear standing water, then return and lift the hood and then manually dry off any parts I can with a clean rag.
A nice finish is to spray the black plastic cover and similar parts with "wet n black" or similar ( essentially tyre shine product ) and then again go over with a clean dry rag for an as new look

Personally, I pretty much do this every other time I wash the car as I do with the exhaust tips etc etc and 4 yrs and 77k miles later they still look great!
