Default Insulator wax

I recently came into a pint of Collinite's No. 845 Insulator Wax. The product is nearly 100% carnauba wax. Have any of you guys used this product and what are your impressions?

The friend who gave it to me says it is the best wax he ever saw with high resistance to car wash detergent and high longivity in general. It is promoted for automotive, marine & aircraft use. However, he states it is just too difficult to to apply and buff out manually so that's why he gave it to me.

I LOVE IT!!! This stuff is fantastic, goes on real easy and buffs off easy by hand too. I only have to wax twice a year, spring and fall. It keeps my cars looking beautiful all year long, I use it on all the glass too, water just beads off it. This stuff is what they coat powerlines with so you know its good! Just a word of caution, don't smoke around it as it is petroleum based

Jeff,

Thanks for the feedback. I was hoping sombody had some experience with this product. I tried half the trunk and it seemed pretty good but since I already had a good waxed finish it was hard to tell.

I love C845 beauty of nuba and as durable as a polymer sealant.

It is incredibly easy to apply with a buffer. And it never really dries too hard, so it's easy to get off with some good microfiber towels.

Collinite 845 is probably the longest lasting, most durable wax I've ever encountered. I'm planning on using it on my Jag when I finally get a chance to wax it by hand.

I'm sure it isn't nearly 100%. It would be unusable if it was as it would be as hard as concrete. Anything over 50% isn't spreadable with a machine, 25-30% by hand. I decided long ago not to buy any product that feels the need to "lie" about their product to sell it. It seems to be common practice in the wax business though.

I've been very impressed with the Dodo Juice sample I got last year for the TiV. Am planning on trying a soft and hard combination this spring on the Jags. Just don't have the time or patience to do it over the winter. They just get a mid winter Meguire's or Mothers quick paste wax for protection.

Collinite is an inorganic (synthetic) wax and has very little Carnauba wax content. Having said that its probaly the most durable 'wax' out there
