Default smoke and juddering

Hi all (be kind to me I'm a forum virgin!)

I've been having problems with my 2007 X type 2.0D. It smokes heavily when accelerating and slightly less when cruising at certain revs. It also judders badly at 1750 - 2000 revs and again at 2750 -3250 revs. It lacks power and really struggles to pull enough to overtake. The EGR valve has been cleaned, she has been serviced with new filters (Oil, Air and Fuel) fitted. Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks

I had all the above symptoms and after scouring many jag sites suspected spark plugs or coil fault. Repaired today. Turned out to be a tear in breather hose after MAF sensor. Engine Management Light Reset and car is purring again.
Good Luck

Not a lot of help I know, but have you had a code reader on it?

This will help to narrow down the list of possibilities for you

Yes I had codes read cannot remember the but it indicated the Lamba Sensor after the Cat was at fault. The split hose would not register as it was after the Mass Air Flow Sensor, or so I was told.

I did also replace Lamba Sensor before split. Lamba sensor didn't make a blind bit of difference to the car. Though my wallet seemed a lot lighter.

No codes. Car is back to normal. No hesitating, juddering under load or excessive fuel usage. I would check hoses for leaks before spending any money could save you a fortune.
