Default New baby F-pace.

I'm pretty certain I saw a test car baby F-pace today. I was just outside the town of Southam in a layby when a heavily masked compact suv came into the layby past me and then went back towards Southam which is maybe 6 or 7 miles from the Gaydon R&D centre.
Hard to assess the body shape with some obvious add ons. The size I would say is on par with the X3 BMW. The back end looked stylish below screen level. As the driver pulled out back onto the main road and accelerated the exhaust was quite muffled but I would say the engine is possibly 4 cylinder but that's a guess.

Something very like this...

Would be great if it handled like an STI, had 280+ HP, tuneable, RWD biased AWD, and AndroidAuto, at $35k or so.

Yeah a hot stylish compact SUV, that would be a winner. SUVs aren't my thing but most of them are either tardy or diesels.
Since diesels have fallen out of favour over here, it would be great to see some more JLR models with hot performance.

The 2 litre turbo in a compact would not be sluggish in any sense. 350 bhp potential easily.
Might be a bit much for our roads !

I believe the car will be dubbed the 'E Pace' . It's going to be positioned below the F Pace so pricing will suit.

What happened to "J Pace"?

I think Jaguar is spreading too thin with too many models/variants like the Germans. Need to improve reliability first.

Is Jag still having reliability issues? I had been under the impression that they were pretty good these days, first model years aside. My own experience with them has been stellar, essentially trouble free except for my first XF which had some first year issues but was then trouble free for 3 years plus.

Dont know about the J Pace, but the I-Pace is looking pretty sweet.

Electric vehicles are only good as second cars, not for road trips or anything heavy-duty. Imagine you're on a road trip and every 200 miles you need to stop for 30-60 minutes to 'supercharge'.
Besides, even if they can go 0-60 in 1.5 seconds they still won't sound as good as a Jaguar V6S or V8.

https://www.edmunds.com/car-news/auto-industry/2018-jaguar-e-pace-revealed-priced-from-39595.html

I did some research, it's already expensive as a base model, $40k, barely a few thousand dollars cheaper than the F-Pace, and it looks like it will be a 4 turbo engine only, it will be AWD, but will it be rear wheel biased or front wheel? And it will suck even more if it's one of those crappy on demand AWD systems that runs FWD 99% of the time untill wheel slip is detected, like in the CRV or the RDX which sucks on slippery roads, I know how crappy it is, I have it on my RDX and that AWD turns into FWD when it's slippery and helps nothing (watch a few YouTube videos). E- pace seems like a nice alternative to the F-pace since I don't want a big SUV, but more of a tall sporty hatchback like SUV, but for $40K it'd better be real nice inside, have AndroidAuto, a good AWD system and a tuneable engine that will get me to 60 in 5.5 secs. We'll find out June 13 when it's revealed.

According to JD Power's 3 year reliability survey, Jaguar did pretty good.

I hope it will have the new ingenium engine, they don't mention it to be on the E-Pace but perhaps it will be revealed on the 13th🤞
