fuel delivery > creating a vacuum
Hey Guys,
Recently tried to fire up the 'ole E-Type after a long long 16 month nap. It fired quickly, ran for couple minutes and died.....
Diagnosis:
Fuel level is about a 1/4 tank. Ran the pump for 1 minute or 2,, the pump ran fast, as opposed to slow(er), as when under pressured. Noticed the glass filter bowl was not filling. Removed the fuel pick-up, all looked normal?
I discovered it does pump fuel, as I poured fuel into the pickup with the pump running and you could tell from the sound it was pumping and the glass bowl filled. However, it seems to lose this prime.
So, do I need to create a vacuum up front with the pump running to draw fuel, so as, to prime, you think?
Thanks for any thoughts...

Whelp, it's fixed! For all of those who follow in my foots steps.....
I removed the pump, to check the diaphragm, it was fine. There was another seal, beneath the following that was all askew on one side. Not sure what this seal is called.
Anyway, fixing it, cured the problem.

After fixing me fuel delivery problem, I placed a leash on the kitty and off we went....
