I'm not sure, but is this a realistic expectation?

389,000 selling price for a 100 point restoration of a 1962 E type.

Personally, I think the seller needs his head read.$ 389,000 CAD I presume, that's over £210,000 very nearly $ 350,000 USD. When you read the last few lines of the ad, he is looking for a qualified new owner that has the time and resources to complete a 100 point restoration!!! So he is basically selling an unfinished project... The wheel might be turning but the hamster is definitely dead.

 

"I have owned this car for 35 years and I'm now looking for a responsible and qualified new owner who will love it as much as I have and who will have the resources and enthusiasm to complete the restoration to a 100 point car. I'm in no hurry to sell."

So does this mean that a buyer with $389,000 in his hand will still have to pass a suitability test?

Only three minor issues:

1. unfinished project
2. restoration work is not to OE spec
3. no history mentioned

I wish he'd reply to my eMail. The cash is burning a hole in my pocket.

a '66 with 7500 org doc miles sold for $385k in January...it was listed in "3" condition.
