Series 2 OTS windshield stabilizer questions
I have obtained the brackets and screws required to install the sun visors on my car as well as a series 1 mirror that attaches to the stabilizer rod.
When my dad had the car refurbished in 2008, the shop attached the top of the windshield to the stabilizer rod top block with a bolt and nut.
The series 1 mirror I bought does not slide down the existing stabilizer rod, and looking at the top block, it is not tapped for screws, just a clean pass through hole.
Are the series 1 and 2 stabilizer rods supposed to be the same, so I should be able to install the series 1 mirror?
Did the series 2 sun visor brackets and windshield attach to the block with screws or a bolt?
Thanks for any assistance.

If the top bracket has the usual non removable top socket, then lower the center dash section and undo the two screws that hold the bottom of this rod to the base of the windshield, now remove the whole rod and undo the two nuts on the bottom of the rod, slide the mirror on and replace........

Thanks for the reply. Top bracket is removable but mirror hole is too small for rod to go through. I have ordered a new rod and top bracket as the bracket on the car is not tapped for the sunvisor screws. Hopefully will all go together properly.
