Oh, I did all that but did not help. What might have happened is that the actual butterfly is not flush with the body when I screwed it back on the spindle. So even though it is closed, there may be an air gap that is causing these problems.

Default Part number from rebuild kit

Can you give me the part # for the kit you used? I could not find a three carb kit that included jets with diaphragms. Does this kit work with gas that has added ethanol? Do you have to do the jet alignment if the needle has not been removed from the slide?

Thanks for your quick reply Lagonia. I’ve been registered at Jaguar Forums for the past three years and yours is the first response to my first post.

When replacing the Main Jet, will I have to worry about centering the needle if I do not remove the main jet needle?

The parts in my carbs look like they are in good shape and have disassembled without shredding the gaskets. To save some money I am considering buying one kit and two main/diaphragm jets AUC8156# I would save $27.76
One less straw on the camel’s back.

My alternatives from SNGBarratt web site;

CSK38* $64/ea. and
AUC8156# Carburettor Main Jet $40.94

or
‘CSK38S $219.76 Carb Service Kit, Set of 3’

So, in my case, I completely disassembled all three carburetors, cleaned and rebuilt them - the needles had to be centered - I do not recall as this being a troublesome procedure. The instructions that come with the rebuild kit are quite good.

I had more trouble getting the air intake off the three carbs than anything else (mine is a '63 Mark 10)
