2019 F-Pace 25t Premium - Starting Issues
Our 2019 F-Pace with 32,000 miles on it is back at the dealer again this week. About a month or so ago, we had an issue where my wife attempted to start the car, except the interior lights wouldn't engage and none of the screens would come on. All she was getting was the start/stop button was pulsating.
I asked her to try remote starting the car from the Jaguar app - nothing - it kept saying request failed.
I assumed maybe it was a dead battery, but then I suggested to her to try locking / unlocking the car again. Sure enough, after doing this - the car started up normally.
Fast forward about a month or so later, we came out to the car - the taillights were lit - but nothing else would power up. We ended up having the car towed to the dealer - where they replaced the battery. We assumed that the no-start issue from several weeks before was due to the battery maybe starting to go bad. About three days after we got the car back for the battery, once again, my wife tried to start the car and it just stayed black. The screens wouldn't power up and all we had was the pulsating red start/stop button.
The dealer has been running codes on the car and trying to reproduce the issue, but so far, they haven't been able to find anything (they mentioned something with an ABS code, but nothing else). Has anyone had any similar issues with their car so I could pass anything on to the dealership? We're stuck with a Nissan Altima rental (as they didn't have any JLR Loaners the other day) until they get it figured out. This past time, it refused to start for several minutes and then my wife came back out to it and of course it started right up. Any insights would be appreciated. I think the dealership is lost right now on how to proceed.

Welcome to the forums AMDMan64,
Failing or partially discharged battery is the number one cause of weird electrical faults on modern Jaguars. Normally expect to get around 5 years out of a battery but there's many reports on our model forums of issues in as little as 3 years.
Does your wife lock and set the security system when the vehicle is parked overnight or for longer periods? If not, several systems don't go into 'sleep' mode and this can cause excessive drain. If the dealer can't find any relevant codes, it could be as simple as this. I assume you mean a Jaguar Dealer using JLR Pathfinder and not a dealer in Jaguars using a generic scantool?
I alternate between my Jaguars and keep both on a CTEK battery tender when not in use. This keeps the battery at optimum charge and extends the life.

Thanks for the response.
No, we haven't typically been locking it in the garage overnight, but I did have that thought. It has never happened when the car is locked, so maybe that does have something to do with it.
It is at the local Jaguar Land Rover dealer. I trust them and have been taking my 2005 Jaguar XJ Vanden Plas there for 13 years.
The more interesting thing that I uncovered is the forum that was linked regarding a battery issue after state emission testing.

When our battery died, we had just gotten an emission test the previous day. I just passed that information on to the dealership. I'll be sure to warn the emission tech to do it properly next time.

Just to update this. We did finally get the car back. They said that the emission test did definitely corrupt the software on the OBD computer and in a few other systems. They checked a few things and the issues have not recurred.
Next time I'm going to have to insist that the emission test station knows what they're doing I guess.

Normally what I do after the annual car inspection & emission test I plug in my trusty old scanner, perform a code reading and turn off the scanner the way it was recommended by the manufacturer. Then I will check if the car's system will sleep after the process. Never had this problem occurred on my XF
