Default F Pace 66 plate not warming up

Hi all, first week in my new to me F pace. Having an issue where the engine temp is never getting up to halfway, highest I've seen is just over a quarter. Picture is after a 20 mile drive..

Any ideas? Thermostat stuck open?

Does the coolant get hot, too hot to hold your hand on the coolant hoses? Could be a sensor. Given how hot the car runs it’s hard to believe the coolant can’t overcome a stuck open thermostat eventually. There has always been a complaint about the coolant indicator not reflecting the true existing condition. Usually, it doesn’t indicate an overheat timely enough to not seize up a motor.

Will check after my next drive, the engine is only 3 weeks old, warranty replacement

Would be helpful to add vehicle motor and trim to post.

Not diesel? What caused the original motor to fail?

With a motor swap there could be something that wasn’t reconnected.

To add to this, the coolant pipe was warm but not too hot to hold. Also the heater seems weak.. so I can only assume the coolant is not getting hot enough

You should connect an OBD code reader and you can get a live temp reading. More accurate than the 'feel good' gauge on the cluster. Watch it warm up and see what it gets to. Could be sensor issue, could be thermost, could be fan running too fast etc
