If somebody can confirm that the U.S. models still have a functional harness connector for the locking solenoid, the appropriate filler bowl can be sourced from Land Rover Parts and Jaguar Spares | Britcar UK Ltd
Unhingd, I think I remember seeing on another thread that you had given up on this quest? I freeeked out about not having a lock when I first got mine and y'all talked me down, thanks
And yes, fourth fill yesterday and mine does this too (CA car.) Add it to the list I guess.
It is interesting to see the um... "diversity" of responses from dealers. For another thread - I want to see what people's experiences are with their dealers. Better to post in "regional?" (But it's so dead there...)
Thanks, as always, for all the info!

Yep, gave up on it. Might look at it again if some local indy acquires an SDD that can be used to program the functionality, assuming the harness is compatible. I'm not laying a new harness just for a locking cap.
Just took my car in for this. The service writer said it was a problem they have seen before however they needed to investigate it before they ordered parts. And, they are backed up a week. Of course my question was "Hey why don't I bring it back when you're ready?" Nope. So they'll have it for a week. Lame.
I filled my 'new to me' 2017 R for the first time yesterday and had it click off immediately several times in a row. I tried just about every position possible with the same result. I finally had to pull it almost completely out of the inside opening and hold it there for it to fill completely.
This will get old quickly if this is how I need to fill this thing every time! I had no idea this was an issue until yesterday, hence my search and finding this thread. Learning something new every day!
I have a service appointment next Tuesday for loose cabin carpet. I plan on asking them about this filler neck issue at that time.
I have a 2015 F Type R. Every once in awhile it makes weird whining noise when filling. Its like a strage sound coming from the gas nozzle. It doesn't shut the fuel off when filling, its just weird. I've never heard that noise coming from any car before.
