I went out to lunch today and received 2 compliments about the F-Type. Not bad for a 12-year-old car, but nothing new in and of itself -- except -- (by my best count) that put me over 1,000 since I bought the car. It probably helps that I generally have the top down and a s-eating grin on my face (a la Jezza).
I said early on that people love the look of this car. I was immediately hooked and bought it before I'd ever seen one in person. When I first told my son about how often people commented, his initial response was, "Dad, you know what that means? It means you're parking too close to the store." A few months later, we met at the beach and he had his first outing in the Jag. When he came back, he said "Dad, you were right. I had 3 people come up and say something." I just put my hand on his shoulder and said "and you had to tell them it was Daddy's car." (This would be the son who has more money in garages than I have in my house.)

Cheers, all.
you keep an exact tally of how many people say "nice car"? Lol
You are getting way more comments than I do. Everyone stares at the car but not that many make comments. I pulled in to a local lumberyard the other day and a guy got out of a truck and stared at the car to the point you would have thought he had never seen a car before. He did not make a comment though. Maybe that is the difference between a coupe and a convertible?
My wife has said for years she is not sure what is more fun riding in the car or watching everyone stare at it as we drive by.
Wow keeping track of how may people comment that's dedication right there. As much as I am a fan of mines its gotten to the point I now try to avoid talking to people regarding my car because it gets so much attention so much so I am now parking way away from people. I just like to enjoy my ride and either people wave or give kudos but not have a full conversation about it.
Mine gets a lot of looks and thumbs up and hang loose hand signals especially when I'm driving, sometimes photos taken, but I found that when I had the Mustang I would get a lot of people coming over to chat about it if I was filling up. Maybe the 'stang being less exotic looking is more approachable

Perhaps he just wanted to see how you would load the 2X6 boards?
I'm reminded of the time I bought a weeping cherry tree from the nursery and loaded it into the passenger seat for the ride home.
A woman parked next to me was desperately trying to load a tall plant into her Honda.
I helped her load it through the sunroof and laughingly told her that next time, she should buy a practical car.

Maybe they'd seen the "Good to be bad" ads and were wary of you!
I get people yelling out the window at stoplights that they love it. I think having the top down and a smile on your face helps a lot because you look more approachable if they can tell you're not having a bad day.
