I’ve had the CarPlay module for a year now and am very satisfied with it.
However, one thing that annoys me a little is that during a drive of about 200 km, CarPlay switches back to the car's main menu at least 10 to 12 times, and I have to tap it again to reopen it. This is particularly annoying, for instance, when you are using navigation. Has anyone else experienced this?
I have not had that and taken the car from Ontario to North Carolina and back, the only issue I find is that if I stop for gas I often have to disconnect and reconnect the phone to get the music to play.

THAT might be a function of the car's head unit.
I've noticed that the display resets to the 'home screen' after a few minutes (the time can be adjusted in the car's SETTINGS but not eliminated that I can determine.
I had a similar problem with a carplay unit (different car), it was the wifi connection. I mounted it in a different position and it was super stabble. Maybe something to look at.
Yep, UAD have a unit for MY18 cars with the 8" screen. Another option is to install the 10" OEM screen with the OEM software updates but that's pretty tricky. There are some threads about both options.

Anybody else?
Thanks a lot, that seems to have been it. It's running through perfectly now.:-)
I also went ahead and connected the phone via cable this time.
Anybody else fitted new mr12v P3000 carplay/android auto?
Search for "Jaguar XJ F-type XFR Wireless CarPlay Android Auto MOST Interface", on their page or in google and append mr12v
I pulled the trigger since in my XK it worked beautifully, took me 1h for research on disassembly and 2h for the job.
Everything works (music, calls, rear camera, switching between oem system and AA) except steering wheel buttons.
Most likely there's something wrong with canbus decoder profile
- short press prev/next track tries to select prev/next tv channel instead of controlling music in android auto
- long press "prev" on steering wheel -> brings up Google assistant (gemini),
- long press "mode" on steering wheel -> “next track" in Android Auto but also triggers cycling through media sources in the car (it's what usually "mode" button does)
Did anybody get that working? So far (a week) I wasn't able to get a response from manufacturer.

As WhiteTardis said for module location . However you will need to get the wiring back to the unit in the center behind the seats.... easy if it's a coupe ...more involved to get to if its a convertible like mine. Also the I needed to unwrap some of the loom circled yellow to make it longer and gain 8" then wrap up the exposed wires ... result is the shown in white circled photo.
