2014 F Type V6S Firesand Orange For Sale $14K With 66k Miles
Came across this F-Type on Facebook Marketplace seems like a great deal seller says the lowest they will take is 14k. Carfax shows minor accident. But on the pictures it seems like hood have a dents in it. Seller has had it listed for weeks claims he has buyers but no one hasnt bought yet.
These are the pics the seller sent. Seems like a great deal but I real skeptical of the fact the seller says he have buyers lined up but no one hasnt bought yet. Its been about 3-4 weeks since listed. I am really tempted to buy but that's over 1100 miles away.
If you study the picture of the hood, the vehicle has clearly rear ended something. Look at the body line between the corner of the hood as it meets the bumper cone. A minor collision - maybe, but a Mickey Mouse repair job at best. If I was you I would be looking elsewhere.

The dealer claims they got this car on trade in and here additional pics. They said they selling it at wholesale price and its seems like a great deal might just need hood repaired or replaced. Carfax shows minor accident it was sideswiped on passenger side. Even at 14k and just say the hood can be repaired or replaced you talking an additional $1000-$2000 tops. This maybe the cheapest in the country because all the other cars with similar mileage is going for $22k+. I am tempted.
An absurdly low price, which sets off alarms…but look at the headlamps, among the other things noted. Yes, they can perhaps be polished but their condition suggests that this car has not been what the British might call “cosetted”.

I offered dealer 13k but they said they set at 14k but Im curious how those dents came about on the front hood because a sideswipe wouldn't do that especially on passenger side.

Yes, very tempting, but unless you have carefully studied the service, ownership and accident history, you are buying many unknowns. This is an early car, so may have some of the glitches that all early models (all makes) suffer from. I didn't catch if the flanged plastic coolant/heater pipes were changed, either for the newer (but still plastic JLR) units or perhaps the most recent metal versions. Some early cars suffered from the center vent unit being noisy when raising, lowering or stopping completely.
The headlights cannot be polished out. They suffer from microcracking and there are several threads on this issue. The whole headlight has to be replaced and they are not cheap.. sometimes $6k each. Possibly find them used on Ebay. If you do that, be careful to look at the description and photos. Some of the headlight units have black trim and some chrome. There are also the regular headlights and the adaptive versions... those turn to follow the intended path of the car. The microcracking is a safety issue. It causes a distortion in the beam, blinding oncoming drivers and not doing the headlight job of illuminating the road. I have personal experience with this and hopefully, am FINALLY able to get the dealer to replace them.
There are also reports of some of the cross bracing underneath the car becoming rusted.
While the price may be tempting, why is the dealer so anxious to dump it? Have they checked the OBD for codes?
This car is now over 10 years old. Some Jaguar dealers are no longer servicing anything older than 10 years. If anything, you MUST go and see the car in person, drive it, have them put it up on a lift for inspection. You can also view any number of "how to buy an F type" videos on Youtube. At least you will get visuals on what to look for.

Looks like a 10 year old used car to me. This is where I differ from most people, none of the issues that are being talked about bother me knowing that I am going to drive and enjoy the car for what it is, a used car. If the car is mechanically sound or can be brought up to a reasonable standard mechanically I would not be concerned one bit about the cosmetic issues.
If you are looking for a steeler example of a 2014 F type this is not it, but if you have 20k and are mechanically inclined, this could be a fun ride for a while. You also know that the car being in this condition allows a certain freedom that a pristine example does not. I would buy it and drive the wheels off it without a care in the world about the next scratch dent door ding or whatever will come its way.
Just my two cents. Good Luck with your decision

Agreed.
Firesand is a great color. And, you’re free to remove those ugly black “F-Type” appliqués from the front fenders.
Agree, a sporty and unique color. Will turn heads, for sure. Those look like aftermarket vinyl decals, should peel off. I hope the paint difference underneath the decals is not too different from the exposed area adjacent.

I agree with this. A little TLC and an alignment check and drive it.

The first time I saw a Firesand F-Type in person it made me question why I didn't get mine in that color. It definitely stands out. I don't recall ever seeing anything from JLR that had a font like that. It's undignified. I'd expect they could be removed and the hood polished to uniformity.
So, now that we've spent your money, tell us how it turns out.
