2015 F type R smaller SC pulley (1.5 psi increase)
Hi folks,
new to the forum and in need of some "wisdom" from folks who perphaps already dealt with this issue.
So... I have a 2015 f type R and wanted a little more oomph out of the jag, so I decided to order the smaller SC pulley from Eurocharged. Should I just change this pulley and leave the ECU alone and fine? I'm not looking to make 625-650 hp at the crank or anything like that just looking for a bit of more bite. My experience with tuning car is moderate and +/- in results obtained. Who has the best ECU programing out there and has the dyno sheets to prove it?
thanks in advance...
The pulley should give you a few extra horses, but the best benefit from the pulley can be realized with a tune. Velocity AP is about the only tuner with real data to back up their performance. You can find a number of those dyno charts on this forum by searching Velocity AP or VAP.
Here is some info on a 2014 XK-RS GT that we did back in 2014. Keep in mind that the car started with 550bhp rating from Jaguar. This received our upper pulley and tuning. This shop was selected by the customer and installed our pulley.
I had another customer in NY that just installed the upper pulley on his 2010 510bhp XKR and he reported that it gave him 30 rwhp. Unfortunately, he faxed me the dyno sheets and I have misplaced them. I think 30rwhp is a very strong #, but I can see 20+ rwhp gain.
This was my 2013 XKR after a tune. These are back to back pulls with the pulley already installed. Just having a pulley will get you some extra boost but the stock ECM will just blow off boost over 9.5. I was getting around 11 PSI after the tune.

As Lance said, you really need to combine this with a tune in order to get the maximum effect. In fact, there's far more BHP to be gained from tune alone versus pulley alone.
