2016 AWD with traction control off = 2015 RWD??
Hi Guys, I'm on the fence about RWD or AWD. I live in the mountains and can see using the AWD in the winter but really like the tail happiness of a RWD car. If one turns off the traction control on a 2016 R doesn't it drive like a RWD? Have many of you 2016 owners tried this? I do understand doing this negates a number of safety features that stability control provides, I'm just wondering if it becomes a tail happy RWD or does the wheel bias get locked down to something like a 20/80 split? Thanks for the input!
I have an V8 AWD and I always drive with ESC off as I noticed that the rear brakes are worn of due to the agressive electronic intervention.
The AWD is not tailhappy and you dont get that RWD feeling. Sorry man....

Thanks for the feedback! My CTS-V (550 hp RWD) did fine in the snow with some great sottozero tires so maybe the 2015 is the way to go. I was amazed at how well that car drove in the snow and I'm thinking the F type is likely more refined (with the snow setting).
So with the ESC off while going around a corner and hitting the throttle (trying to induce drift) you're not getting the **** end around? That's kind of a bummer, I was hoping for the best of both worlds

My '16 R definitely feels like a RWD car when driving with traction control completely off (pressing and holding the button down for 5 or 6 seconds). I can't comment on the '15 since I've never driven it, but I have managed to my car completely sideways on my MPSS on freeway onramps and spirited driving. Even with TCS off, the AWD still kicks in and it is clunky- you can feel when it redirects power to the front wheels. Be careful with cold tires and less than ideal road surfaces.

Perhaps a video of the sideways action would help the community. Or a rev party filmed inside a parking structure.
