Smile 2016 F-Type antenna removal

Guys & Gals, I have a 2016 F-Type that I need to change out my antenna. Is it that simple to , by hand, raise up the panel the antenna is bolted to and "lift up?" How can it be that simple? (LOL) Are there any bolts that hold it down? Jag NEVER does anything that simple.

Yes it is that simple! There are four nuts that hold the large place piece with the antenna bolted to. ( I am assuming this is a coupe?? ) underneath the hatch lid. Once you take them off, lift the cover and you will see where the antenna is bolted along with 3 or 4 wires attached to. If you are replacing it with a new antenna and the dealer tells you it has to be painted ( and charge you at least $100.00 to do so ). Get a small torx bit and you can take the screws out on the bottom of the old one and just replace the cover.

Here is a pic of the complete antenna panel from the coupe that must be removed. Note: there are (6) 10mm nuts that have to be removed before you can pry the panel up from the plastic clips. (2) nuts are openly accessed from the top edge of the rear hatch, and there are (2) more nuts on each side of the edge of the hatch underneath a small pop-out plastic cover.

DO NOT CUT THE DATA CABLES TO REMOVE THE COVER PLATE FROM THE CAR (this was a spare plate I received from a junkyard, removed from the donor car in haste). Proceed to additional steps below for data cable disconnection.

Once the panel is free, you will find data cables attached to the antenna that must be unplugged before you can remove the panel and access the antenna

To remove the data cables, you must first access the white release tab. In my case, I had to rotate each cable to get to the release tab ....

You will have to pull each white tab up in order for the data cable to release and allow its removal from the antenna

After removing the cables and the (2) 10mm stud nuts, you will see a pair of black tabs that must be squeezed together in order to allow the meatal base plate to be removed. Once the plate is removed, your antenna unit will be free to replace.

Slight resurrection of an old thread here! :-)

GPS on my 2018 R has stopped working for both the telemetric and the satellite navigation - as they share the same GPS receiver, it's seems a likely culprit - but it's not certain, it may be the GPS signal splitter or the cable that feeds through the rear hatch / tailgate to the interior.

It seems that the antenna is a more common failure point though - but does anyone know why? has anyone had a cable or splitter failure?

I'm in the UK, so I understand there is a DAB aerial in the shark fin as well - so, how many connectors should I expect to see on the underside of the fin? On eBay, I've see units with one or two, but the photos in this thread have three! (Cirrus / satellite radio maybe, for the US market?)

Does anyone have the UK part number for the correct antenna, please?
