Very good read -

What do we think would happen if we swapped a convertible CHCM into a coupe?

However - Even though the vert has manual control under the auto-deploy limit, it does not have the ability to lower the spoiler manually even after it is auto-deployed, so I guess it doesn't totally matter...Does seem like it would allow you to modulate manually anywhere below the auto-deploy speed however

Final Edit: It looks like the spoiler is determined to be up/down via two microswitches on the actuator, which would send the signal if it's currently 'down' or currently 'up'. I wonder for those of us that don't want the spoiler to deploy, if there is a way to spoof this signal.

Thanks for this interesting link. Now all I need to do is find a middle schooler to hack the CHCM and change the constants to 35 and 10 for me.

I know this is an old thread, but was just thinking about this. It would involve using an oscilloscope to find the specific CAN signal the CHCM sends to the actuator when opening/closing, and recording this. That seems easy enough to be honest, if you know where to probe, but producing a CAN signal is a different matter altogether.

Short of reprogramming the CHCM, which seems impossible as it is essentially a black box as far as this forums knowledge goes, you would need to inject the previously copied CAN signal - perhaps with a microcontroller. This would involve splicing the wiring, and having a mechanism to signal the microcontroller for when you want to deploy or retract the spoiler.

All in all seems like a lot of work, even for someone like me with an embedded software background.

You're full of ****, there is no coding on the A7 to change the speed in which the spoiler activates. You can disable it in either up or down position in coding but not change the speed in which it deploys
