Just recently the alarm has started going off when opening the hatchback from locked. Very strange, key is in my pocket and the fact that I can open the hatch says it is being recognized, I did change the fob battery just in case.

I have to reset the alarm by pushing the unlock button on the key fob.

Has anyone else had this happen, it has only just the last few days that this is happening and there are no other errors showing up.

Maybe I should reset via the battery disconnect method ?

 

I´ve had the same problem on my ´17 convertible. Jag swapped the lock of the boot and everything worked fine.

 

Are you doing this while the car is locked?

 

Yes, but there´s no difference between opening the boot, or the doors. One of the locks had a failure and the alarm will go on.

Now i can open the car via the doors or the boot. No problems. I think the lock in the boot has a failure.

Maybe it is only a contact problem with one of the connectors. My car was in warranty, so i didn´t check this.

 

The cars going in for service in a couple of weeks so I'll have the dealer check it out. It's still under warranty if anything needs replacing.
