I wonder where on the V8 that pipe lives or if anyone has a photo for directions.
That is a V8 (Supercharged 5.0). And, I think that coolant pipe and bleed screw might even be in the same place on the V6. Have you looked at your engine? It's pretty visible on the top of the engine near the firewall on the U.S. passenger-side.
Let me rephrase - I don't recognise where in the bay I need to look to find the same pipe. It's freezing cold outside, so I don't want to spend an age looking. :-)
Not my car, but I was able to get this picture from the forum and circle the area on my phone. It's the silver metal pipe in the top left of the red circled area. You can even see the bleed screw on it in the photo.
That is definitely what that screw is for and seeing these kits are universal for most V6 and V8 JLR AJ133 and AJ126 motors, it's possible they include that in the kit regardless. I do not see the same coolant pipe in my 2016 F-Type R. I would be curious to hear if others have found this mystery location on the F-Type (if it exists). I am thinking it does not exist as this design ^^^ does not have a plastic bleeder screw on the expansion tank and so this must serve as that function for non-Ftype or XK specific vehicles that these aluminum pipes are also designed for.
So I’ve read through all the threads and I am going to proactively order everything that needs to be replaced regarding common cooling system failures. I’ve looked at the EuroAmp website and they seem to have a complete kit for my 2018 R. My question is, are there only 2 plastic pipes that need to be replaced with aluminum? Reading some of the posts it seems like they’re maybe 3 plastic pipes but EuroAmp kits come with 2. Is there a plastic pipe that has no aluminum replacement yet and if there is, is an aluminum replacement coming in the near future? I won’t be doing this until after my warranty runs out at the end of this coming summer.
Yes there are only two alu pipes, the two coolant crossover pipes, upper and lower.
The third problematic pipe is the heater/manifold pipe (at the rear behind/under the SC) but that is still plastic, there is talk of an alu version coming soon but it hasn't surfaced yet.
The 3rd aluminium pipe you're refering to is not supplied by EuroAMP & one I discovered during my research - it's a worthwhile one to purchase and fit whilst replacing the plastic coolant pipes. The rear manifold is a work in progress with EuroAMP. Don't expect to see an uprated aluminium part for 2-3 years.

Like many, I am considering doing this proactively, but am afraid I will get the engine apart only to realize that there are other parts I should replace that I haven't ordered yet.

When it arrives in metal, at least for my V6, the mechanic told me he was pretty sure he could get to it without pulling the S/C. One still needs to do the flush of coolant of course...I just put new coolant in because why not do fresh fluids..
Am hoping they do the rear in metal but it is complex and different v6/v8 so who knows if they'll actually ever do one. In theory, maybe they could 3d print one in metal (if that method's pipe is robust)....
You're referring to the rear manifold. Yes, the are 2 parts depending if you have a V6 or V8. The old sandwich design has not been revised by JLR or created in aluminium.

Yep, I have had a good squiz at that pipe on my V6 and looks like it can be replaced without removing the SC - a bit of a PITA to get at but still doable.
I suspect the V8 would be a different story and impossible to replace without removing the SC.
What are the part numbers for the Supercharger Coupling?

The V6 supercharger is the Eaton TVS 1320. The coupler fitted is spring-loaded. However, there is a solid option available you can "upgrade" to - part number: EAT 361506.
The V8 supercharger is the Eaton TVS 1900 and does not use a spring-loaded coupler.
