Glad you got them and they sure do look good! This should finally fix a terrible design decision by Jaguar.

Yes you can see them but not really enough to do anything except maybe to look for coolant stains and puddles.
Now with a 2022 lets HOPE your Jaguar had a better grade of plastic installed at the factory!

Nice product, but the shippingcosts to Europe .
This will sort the y-pipe problem but this overflow hose T2R5910 still will be the other problem.

 

I wouldn't worry too much about replacing that hose, it is cheap and easy to DIY replace.
I know because mine split so I bought a new one (from Britcar or Rimmer Bros, I forget which) and replaced it, if I can do it anyone can.
Unlike the pipes in question which are not cheap and a pig to replace.
So if I were you I would just buy a new overflow hose and have it on hand for if/when it needs replacing.

I bought a pair of the metal coolant pipes and they are installed in my 2013 XF 3.0 SC. The fit seems good. There is a small gap where the two metal pipes join together, but I believe the o-ring is seated far enough into the lower pipe to create a good seal. I am currently pressure testing the cooling system. No evidence of leaks so far.

Don't know for sure, but that o-ring design might allow for gaps like that for expansion. Especially with aluminum. Thanks for the feedback, I think I'll be going this route later in the year when I decide to tackle this project.

Jaguar originally started out using Aluminum pipes in the front of the engine for the "Y" pipe and the other large one. You can tell because the early models had a crook at the top of the "Y". Plus the extra little stub with O-rings on each end. I have circled in red what is different. He lists them for all SC engines and mentions a copper elbow in the description which another strange statement?




The later updated one are strait. They do NOT interchange!




So unless there is some way to make the early parts fit the later models?
Note that listing says these do NOT fit my 2014 XJR either? But later says they fit ALL 3.0 SC and 5.0L SC engines?

The part u have circled in red is the same design as the original plastic version. This was then changed to the newer design which would seem to be better as it would have one less o-ring. But I would not hesitate to try the older metal design as it would still be better than the old plastic version, if indeed it fits correctly.

 

I ran the pressure test overnight and everything looked good. Finished up reinstalling all the non-cooling system parts today and fired up the car and did some driving. All good so far. Knock on wood. Now to see how the aluminum cooling pipes work out longer term.

I think the real test will be gettimg the motor and cooling system good and hot and seeing how the pipes handle expansion/contraction. I.e. if that affects alignment, o-ring seals etc. Looking forward to hearing how it holds up - I'm optimistic!

 

Just got a set and looking forward to installing them but unfortunately my car is going in the body shop after getting rear ended recently. As soon as I get it back out, I'm throwing these on with a new Bosch pump and Evans waterless coolant as well as finishing up the water meth injection system and throwing on the VAP 58MM SC pulley.

Were you able to re-use the original combining adapter (refer to pic) or did you have to buy a new one? If you had to get a new one, do you have a part number? It would have been nice if the company had provided a combining adapter for the 2 aluminum tubes like is shown for the FoMoCo part.

 

I emailed the eBayer selling the pipes prior to buying and he said:

Hello,

That connector is for the old design. That part has since been discontinued. Our aluminum pipes are designed using the updated version of the coolant cross over pipes.

Using our pipes, that connector is no longer utilized.

The FoMoCo casting us a bit off-putting, but I guess it is in good company with the FoMoCo filter housing that comes from the factory. This is something to consider, especially if I get those aluminum pipes polished.
