Default Another AS tire question

I recently posted about Michelin Pilot Sport AS 4 tires.
I was interested in switching but came to realize that the AS4 will fit the rears (295/30R20) but not the fronts (255/35R20).
They do however offer the correct size for the fronts in the (older) AS 3 model.
So, is it likely to compromise handling with AS3 front and AS4 rear?
The tires seem quite similar in tread and compound.

I asked the Tire Rack guy the same question. He said NO, don’t do it. They are, in fact, quite different.

We wound up getting the RE780’s and are very happy with them as our cold weather tire. The PS 4S are just in another class, for summer.

Thanks Robtrt8. I am guessing you meant the Potenza RE980AS?
Do you drive them year-round?
Given the Michelin mismatch, I shall either go with RE980s or Conti DWS06 plus.
BTW, where is Nellyville?

Sorry, yes 980’s.
No, the minute it maintains above 40 degrees we switch wheels/tires.

Nelly: Long story/inside joke.
He had a house here in Lake St Louis.
Doesn’t matter that he sold it 11 years ago. It’s still “Nelly’s” house as a landmark on the lake.

Up to $140 off Continentals during June.

Thanks for the info.
I just checked the rebate. You need to get a conti credit card for a $70 visa credit, then another $70 credit if you buy 4 (matching ?) tires.
Not a big enough incentive to change tires early. Will see what deals ar available in the Fall.

AS4's possibly/should become more widely available in an array of sizes as time goes on, if your tires can make it to the fall your options should increase.

Thanks SVR575.
I checked with Tire Rack.
They replied that they expected the AS4's to be available for the Jag fronts in July.
So, looks like a real option to fit them in the Fall.
