Default Any way to force center vent to raise?

Hello!

Often when I'm driving I like to have a cold breeze in my face from the A/C, regardless of temperature. Now that we're in the colder months, the center vents often stay down regardless of how I try to fiddle with the A/C.

Anyone figure out the necessary incantations to always have some (fake) wind in your face?

I believe there is an option under the settings to have it permenently open. Probably a good place to start.

The centre vent only stays down sometimes when the "auto" A/C switch is on.
Turn the auto switch off and adjust the vent settings manually using "Climate" to get the centre vent open at all times.

I almost never use the "Auto" switch, but the vent still often stays down.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try to find this tomorrow and report back.

I forgot to add, you need to manually set the vents to "top vent only", then the top vent always opens as long as the A/C is on (whether cooling or heating).
As explained elsewhere there is a setting (again in the Climate menu I think) to have the centre vent permanently open, but with my alternative method the vent still closes when you turn the A/C off.

O.K. mystery solved, I turned the temp down enough to stop the A/C and the vent lowered. Since the A/C system is seldom off here in S.W. Fla. it seldom fails to come up. Thanks to all for the good inf. Now the decision is to decided if the wear and tear if worth leaving it in the up position??

I programmed mine to stay up. That auto-up function has “needless wear & tear” written all over it.
