Anyone Here topped out their Jags in Mexico Yet?
Just curious if anyones taken a road-trip down to Mexico and hit some dangerously high speeds in their F's? if so what, Specify what model and how long it took you get to mexico , or on the track if anyones does that too. hit 140 on the Bank at Homestead, V6S awd convertible

IMHO its really, really dumb to go fast on Mexican roads. A lot of the roads are crap and the ones that aren't have all kinds of idiots parked on the side doing roadside maintenance on everything from cars to excavators. That doesn't even take into account all the overloaded trucks and crooked cops who love to hassle tourists for bribe money. I was driving down the road in Durango one time and a full load of drill pipe fell off a truck in front of me.

2014 XJR 180+ on the speedo after the mile run. 167+ officially thru the timers at the mile. Stock with a VAP tune.
Car still pulling and I think it has more in it but you run out of room very fast at those speeds!!
1/4 mile = 119
1/2 mile = 147
It's amazing that it just barely shifted from 5th to 6th right at 170. 6th is 1:1 ratio or direct drive. So the last 2 gears are over drive.
With 8 speeds I don't know what it could run??
Bigger lower pulley, another tune and a bigger inter-cooler with upgraded pump are sitting on my bench awaiting installation. Can I get to 200?
With the power and speeds these cars run you simply can't use it all on the street. Mine was done on a airport runway.
Surface conditions are critical at those speeds and just not worth it on anything open to the public!

Only about 90 - what a wimp in my declining years. In my youth I'd frequently do 150+ on motorcycles with a girl hanging on screaming.. Had a Plymouth Fury III up to near 100 on St Helens Road. Used a 71 Blazer to win most city races cause passing on the sidewalk helped get from A to B.. Found out later only one lugnut holding on one back wheel.
Mercedes 560SEC to about 125. We used to race from Portland to Seattle in the 80s and the first car that goes below 80 loses. Lots of passing via the emergency lanes. Once had 44 tickets. Now haven't had a ticket in 20+ years lol. Charmed life.
A buddy of mine from High School told me if we did now what we did back them how long would we last? I said about ten minutes max. Narcs with cameras everywhere. Back in the day you could have a beer in your lap and the cop would make you pour it out before you went on your way. I was born, lived and will die at the perfect time.
Now when I see some kid driving like an insane idiot I don't get mad I think hey that was me once. Good luck in the surveillance state, kid! ....
