That's what I did and it worked fine. Once I drained a quart out, I went through the process of checking (now low) - then adding back until at 100%. It turns out mine was only about 6 ounces overfilled.

I love this forum but IMHO this topic gets waaaayyyyyy too much emotion. Just sayin'!
Yep, that should work! Makes sense for a new car where it's many years yet until the warranty runs out so you wont be doing regular oil changes yourself. Unless you are like me and do them once every six months which means extra changes between the dealer/scheduled changes, in which case it makes sense to get an extraction pump.
You want/need 9 mm internal diameter clear tubing which I understand is freely available at hardware stores and fairly cheap, 2 metres ought to be enough.

Hello all, I have some data but I need help understanding it. The oil level shows a level of 141mm and a volume of 7.3L. The Max value for the height is listed as 255 on the PID itself, so I’m not sure what 141mm actually means, or if 7.3L is too much for the engine. The dash still shows as overfilled. My question is, is the car actually overfilled? I waited at least 10 min after going for a ~20 min drive. I know the car is supposed to take around 6.5L for an oil change but that’s not the whole capacity.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm fairly sure that PID is showing the sump oil level/height above the bottom of the sump (141 mm) and the calculated volume of the oil in the sump (7.3l). Although who knows how accurate those readings are.
Being AWD your sump volume is 6.5 litres and 7.3 litres is definitely overfilled, but 7.3 litres sounds about right if the dealership made the usual mistake of pumping in the RWD oil change amount which is 7.25 litres.
Have you removed any oil yet?
If you haven't, I suggest you do what inmanlanier recommended - get some 9 mm internal diameter clear plastic tubing, about two metres should do it, and suck around 800 ml of oil out, then see what the oil level readout says.
The jury is out as to whether driving the car with an oil overfill of 750 or 800 ml is "bad" or not but IMHO it won't do any damage or cause any problems if you take it easy.
But of course who would want to "take it easy" 100% of the time in an F-Type SVR!

The concerning thing is this is the oil level AFTER the dealer removed 200ml, meaning it was at 7.5L before. I’m beginning to think the people who service these cars either want them to breakdown or are just complete *********...

It looks to me like the PIDs work for the AJ126, meaning the sensors can be read correctly. But the level and volume readings are for the AJ133 sump, hence the name of the PID set "AJ133..." If true, the oil level and volume could be deciphered correctly, but not without knowing more information. The temps and boost would be more straight forward. Bummer if true.

The AJ126 and AJ133 have identical sumps and sump volumes.

I want to have the car taken to the dealership so there’s a record, but this is Ridiculous because the car was sent SPECIFICALLY to have the oil level fixed, I have literally no idea how they botched it twice... I hope this engine doesn’t die in 40k miles from now because of this BS

That makes sense with the same block, but how does the AJ133 spec more oil? Is the sump more full? If so, why?

You're fine. You'd know right away if it failed from overfilling.

It doesn't, they both have the exact same oil fill spec - 7.25 litres for RWD and 6.5 litres for AWD.

They botched it twice coz it still hasn't gotten through their thick skulls that the AWD takes only 6.5 litres and not 7.25 litres. Same applies to many JLR dealerships, boundless examples on this forum.
The second time round they were still working on 7.25 litres being the correct amount, they measured/guestimated your car had 7.5 litres in the sump, so they removed only 200 ml to bring it down to 7.3 litres which is well within the safe limit for a sump that is meant to take 7.25 litres.

At each oil change I make sure to remember the tech that my car is awd and takes less oil. No more overfill since.

however, to remove the extra oil is very simple, a large syringe with a flexible tube will suck it out from the oil filler

Thought I'd give this method a try so I did the double click on my cold base type. It had not been started for two days, but when I pressed the start button (without pressing the brake, thus no engine start) and scrolled through to the oil check function it gave me the digital dip stick and "oil ok" message. What am I missing here? Or did the latest software update maybe change the procedure?

You can always read the oil level after ten minutes - even several days after the ten minutes have elapsed ....

To clarify: the "not available" period is from switch-off to up to 10 minutes, outside that period the reading is available.

I doubt there will be any long term issues. I agree, take it back to the dealer and have them "fix it". If you don't, they won't know what they are doing wrong.

1. The Jaguar oil change procedure includes the procedure for switching the dipstick to 'instantaneous' mode, and for updating the average. It implies (and others have stated) that the hood/bonnet needs to be open for this to work, I haven't confirmed that.

2. I would ask the service manager why on earth you should bring a $100k+ car for service there, if they can't properly fill the oil.

3. On a similar topic, here's the procedure for resetting the service indicator, after an oil change...

I’ll be complaining to Jaguar corporate, but in all
honesty I’m not sure what anyone can do beyond just fixing it. The first dealer has agreed to pay for my Mityvac and some merch, I guess I could get some more free stuff but all I really want is a car that’s been serviced properly without having to go to the dealer 3 times...
