I am not going to swap sides but thinking of using an old starter button as a switch for the garage remote opener as a mod to do

I just took a look at the original console trim piece and both holes look identical, plus the lighter bezel trim piece snaps into the starter hole perfectly. So I would say they are interchangeable.

Thanks Wayne and Rock. Unfortunately no home link mirror.
Planning firstly a Capacitative touch hidden switch and if that fails then this button as a switch which will cost me nothing to do. Homelink mirror will be the last option
