Default Cheap Dead Pedal Install

Thought I would share this with everyone. Really bothered me that there is no foot rest ie dead pedal on the F Type.

So.. I did some snooping and found this on Amazon for $11.00 bucks and installed it. No drilling, it comes with some special tape and it has not moved since I installed it. It's for a Ford Focus!

I think it matches pretty good?

Comments?

I suppose since it is in a location not easily seen, its probably livable, but the F type isn't a vehicle i'd cheap out on.

Unfortunately in my view it really doesn't look good at all

The manual transmission doesn't come with pedals other then the factory pedals with just the rubber covers. I ordered mine from Ultimatepedals.com and I am very pleased with them. All sorts of different options. If you look closely I had the Jaguar leaper engraved on the dead pedal.

I bought the factory version online for about 10% off, still stupid price. But it looks right and has worn perfectivly after 2 years.

For me, the benefit of OEM in this case override cost, even if I feel it more than I see it!

Really don't see much of a difference. Mine is made out of stainless as well. And I did not want to drill any holes.

Are those sheet metal screws or machine screws? That installation could be dressed up very nicely by using allen head or torx head screws. I've been considering a set of these.

Good question Unhingd. Believe they are just metal screws that came with the pedals. You are correct with the thought of allen head or torx head screws. May have to go find some now!!

Might as well get this out of the way. Dead pedals aside, I've turned to factory parts for mods where possible. I still use the after-market, but am less trusting. This is simply out of concern for the time it takes to ensure proper fitment. I have less time these days to customize what should have been a decent fitment. (And I know I'm far from being alone on this last part, heh.)

Don't get me wrong. I'm all for DIY fabrication, as you've done. And I fully understand about not wanting to drill holes either. But, since I don't intend to remove the pedal, I was less concerned.
