Chrome Bonnet Insets
#26
I put a set of chrome bonnet vents on yesterday and am quite pleased with the outcome. The F is silver and they blend in very smoothly. I thought the plastic mesh was a little inexpensive looking and the British affinity for chrome is well known. I saw a black pack set last week and thought they were also an improvement.

I have never "added" chrome pieces to any car before. However this car came with a mix and match of black and chrome pieces. We were facing to either go all black or CF. But our wheels are silver and all black just did not fit that well. So we went hood louvers, mirror caps and rear hoop chrome. However on a silver/grey/blue car this blends in rather well and is not standing out.

P.S. When I pulled the chrome bonnet vents out of the trunk (rear glove compartment) after 6 months, I found a receipt for 2 @ $234 USD apiece. Of course they are made by an Italian carrozzeria and so I expect worth every penny. The lambswool mats for the XK8 were $200 apiece back in 2001 and so I have no grounds to complain.
Next, I am thinking about the chrome roll over loops. I expect they are relatively close in appearance to the OEM loops and so I am not sure about doing them next. Anyone have any thoughts on that.
