Considering a coupe and looking for some advice
I have the horsepower and torque you dream of. 520. Electric Diff, the works.
You are confusing initial pedestrian opinion with a long term one of an owner.
In a long term evaluation you will appreciate and enjoy the V6 more.

Manage your expectations
You dont want to be a poor girl in a rich man's house
If you dont have $1000 a month to spend, you are only setting yourself up for the disappointment of lusting beyond your means. All while ignoring the incredible joy that is within your reach.

So just to continue my research, I drove a black 650i xDrive coupe today. Yes the Jag looks better and is in another league, but I absolutely love the look of the 6-series coupe still.
Anyways, I did appreciate the much larger interior. Space isn't going to be the deciding factor I've decided, but was nice nonetheless. All the tech was nice to have though, the cameras, heads-up display, fully digital dash, etc. But the kicker came in the speed. OMG. The throttle response was a lot quicker than the V6 S, and I finally got that borderline scary fast in the BMW. That's 445 HP for ya. Also, the exhaust note was actually louder than the V6 S, minus all the insanity of the pops and crackles. I'm not sure if it had an exhaust put on from an M6 or what, but it was insane. Sadly, some of the noise is probably from the exhaust note being pumped through the stereo, but the sound and quickness gave me a bigger smile than the V6 S managed.
I can get this 2014 650i for $10k less than a 2015 V6 S although the Jag will have 1 more year of factory warranty on it. The 650i is $20k less than a 2016 V6 S, but that will have the benefit of having 3 more years of factory warranty and maintenance left. I would probably spend $5500 for 4 years of comprehensive extended warranty on the BMW so that closes the price difference a little.
The V6 S couldn't match the size and quantity of the smiles the 650i could muster, and even though it's a big boring car, the handling is really nice too. It's tough though because the Jag is just so damn beautiful and attention grabbing. I'll probably post a poll on my Facebook tomorrow and see what gets the most votes, but I'd honestly be happy in either one.

As the new owner of 2015 R with 9000miles driven by first owner and nine months Jaguar warranty remaining I would agree, just one point I would add, don't test drive an R (RWD or AWD) unless you're willing to be seduced by the performance!
It remains a tough decision even considering the possible $25k savings of the BMW. The ability to get a much longer warranty with the Jag is a huge deciding factor to me.
An R AWD would be incredible, but honestly too much of a car (and price tag) to consider when the V6 S is good enough. Despite not being as fast as I'd want and slower than the 650i, I know I'd never actually be disappointed in that fact I went that route since I get to look at the car everyday.
There's a big difference between ability and desire to spend more money. I'm in the top 4% of single income earners in the US (which is surprisingly not much money after taxes and 401k investment, etc). I would save $25k by going with a 650i xDrive (2-door, not sure why you keep referencing the sedan) versus the cheapest used AWD F-Type I can get.

What I am advising is that your priorities cannot afford an Ftype.
I have a 1977 car that cost as much as a new 650, it does 0-60 in 2 minutes, cant take it on the interstate, cant drive it on hot days, gives 6 miles to the gallon, and I have to own a sports car and a SUV to own that car. You see my priorities were different.
Just from your post about polling others on Facebook, I would say you are definitely a 'Beemer Type'. Forget the F-Type, get the 650 so you can sit at Starbucks and brag to the rest of the Beemer owners about the power and space for all the clubs, kids, 401, IRAs, etc, and then make plans to meet up at the bar later for a cosmo.
Yep, the personality that goes for a Jaguar is not one looking for validation from other people.
Whether they are or not, they'll still get it from strangers on a daily basis. I can't believe any BMW drivers get the public validation we do unless they are driving a Z8 or I8.
Haha, I saw an amazing SVR in Annapolis, only one I've seen on the road here, (I'm in Baltimore city myself)
