A Jaguar is for those who have freed themselves from their primal directives.

Both sheep and wolves huddle in their packs for comfort and politics. A jaguar is a lone rider above it all.
Philosophy aside, certain material objects do possess the ability to enhance the gravitational affects on undergarments.

There's an entire other world out there of near-goddess-like women that will only talk to guys with lifted pickup trucks (beat-up trucks with smoke stacks need not apply). While I wouldn't want a woman that's only with me because of my car (which at the primal level indicates financial security), it does get the ball rolling on conversation obviously. I'm sure there's very few of us here that would turn down additional opportunities to meet attractive people.

Its all psychology- nothing more, including the thought of undergarments.
A monkey sniffing bums in his mind is being elegant.

Sure material things attract- the question is what do you want to attract. That is what determines where you end up in life.

If only that car had the Meridian Surround I'd probably buy it right now. I just looked up comprehensive extended warranties through USAA, about $4-5000 for 3-4 years of warranty on a 2015, good to know as I could save a decent amount of money that way instead of being tied to a 2016 model.

You will hopefully make the right call for the the reasons; otherwise you're like a dog chasing their own tail. In my opinion your thought process is askew.
RickyJay's comments here echo my sentiments precisely!!!

Who the EFF cares what others think about the car you drive. Buy what you want FOR YOURSELF, and stop the charade of trying to second guess what others will think of your choice of cars. Starting to sound like the OP has serious insecurity issues

Most of us wear clothes in public that we find nice and presentable, and what most of us consider nice in the first place is a concept socialized into us from our daily interactions within our culture. There is that minority of people that will wear their tuxedo-print t-shirt to a black tie event. I'm not that person. If accepting the ways of the world and caring about societal norms, such as those that choose to wear a tuxedo, a nice expensive one to boot, versus just wearing the fake t-shirt is your definition of "serious issues", then so be it.

I don't really get why some folks get so worked up over the fact that the OP asked for opinions. So it isn't your cup of tea - so what? I do love the irony of telling the OP that you don't care what others think - but I guess you expect him to care what you think?

Yes, I had the same dilemma between a '15 R and a '16 S. But I cant cop the media interface in the '15 models which I'd had in one of my XF's (and was one of the main reasons why I only kept it 12 months). I knew it would drive me mad, so I took the '16 S for the same dollars.

I haven't researched the media interface much, just thought the 16's got a bump in resolution, I'll see if I can find some videos online of the difference.

Does anyone think I'm making a mistake by making the Meridian Surround a deal breaker? I didn't even think of listening to the stock radio on my test drives as I just had the windows and pedal down.

I'm also prioritizing the Design Pack so that will limit my options if I opt for RWD (if I go white or red, BR Green looks fine without it since it's darker). Instead of reviving another old thread on the subject, it appears I can buy the "finisher panel" side skirt and add that after the fact. Would I need to buy the V8 R side molding as well? Or will the finisher panel mount up with the V6 panel?

Lots of folks have had issues with the high-end Meridian. I have the standard 380W (no surround sound), and I consider it mediocre. SiriusXM is pretty poor.

Thanks, I'll research that too. I saw some complaints about rattling, but overall the impressions seemed favorable for the 770W, although some of the reviews I read were about the F-Pace system as well.

After my 770 Meridian was fixed, I have been sufficiently pleased. It was a must have as I drive the car with stereo blasting quite often and expect decent sound.

Yeah I just read through the thread about the amp software update. Still a bit scary to see the few responses from people that said the update didn't fix anything.

Ok cool, thx for the input. I'll keep the 770W system as a must-have then. I was able to find a YouTube video about the 2016 infotainment system, but can't find anything specifically about the older version. Can it be upgraded at the dealer or would I have to get a 2016 specifically?

Besides being quite thoughtful...this line of thinking and a doobie could keep me entertained for hours....wow, man, that's deep.

One of the best line I have read here. Second only to the circuitous argument " Dave's Not here- This is Dave"

Unhingd, I'm sure you can help with this. Regarding the previous topic of ECU tunes, are there any bolt-ons I could get that don't require the tune? I saw that headers would throw up an error code without a tune. I'd love if there was a way to eek out 20-30 more HP from a V6 S that's warranty friendly.

Mine is a 16.5 and it has the 4 pretty tiles on the screen. The earlier one had a black and white screen and I hated it with a passion because I'd always hit the wrong button then get launched into the wrong menu.

On the design pack, I have the sport design pack in an IRR car, looks great though I wrapped the sills to give the waist more shape. The rear bumper treatment and the front are great, the side is a PITA to tell you the truth because it is too wide.
