Default Convertible top not working

Just bought my 2018 F type two weeks ago. Convertible top has been working perfect. Got in the car yesterday and is not working at all. The only thing I did different was try to open it with both doors open. I closed the doors, and nothing. When I close the doors and roll the windows down and push to close, The windows will close and that’s it. I had heard about potential low battery issues. I have no problems starting this car. Any suggestions.

I’m assuming you’ve tried it with the engine running. In my early car, if ECO shuts off the ignition, then I can’t move the top until I’ve started the engine, not just turn the ignition back on.

And for future reference, the fact that the engine will start does NOT mean that the battery is putting out sufficient voltage to power the multiple modules in these cars. The first signs of a failing or discharged battery will be random:warning lights, various components not operating properly, top issues, touch screen freezing and at some point a message on the screen telling you to "please" (yes) start the engine. The starting system is designed to be the LAST failure point. I am not suggesting that this is the cause of your top issue now -just pointing out something that every owner should know. If this F-Type is to be an occasional-use car then you would be well advised to use a battery maintainer (CTEK brand being the favoured one) when the car is not in use.

Well, it's a British car - you'd expect it to be polite!

I have tried that. I do have it tuned. I reset it back to factory, nothing. Fuse is good. Took the battery cables off for 30 minutes. I’m at a loss

Have you checked the fuse?

It is fixed. Charged the battery up all night, next morning works perfect.

Right...it bears saying yet again: for any electrical system on a modern car ( of any make) the battery is the first suspect - it is almost always found to be the culprit (often after elaborate, time-consuming, frustrating and frequently expensive investigations). And very often the notion of insufficient battery voltage as the cause of malfunction is ignored or rejected.
