First suspect: low battery voltage!

I want to add, my rear bumper was scratched by the dealer at the 36,00 klm factory service. so i made them paint the rear bumper. the body shop was a JLR certified collision repair center . nevertheless, they, the body shop were at fault in putting the bumper back on and connecting the wires accordingly.

Was the ECU 'fried' (needing replacement), or did it just need to be 'reset' by the dealer?

Well, with respect, if you withhold the fact that the car has just been to a body shop and now you have a problem, you have withheld a vital bit of information that would have led to a different answer. The history is everything for proper diagnosis both in a doctor's office and in this forum.
I am glad that you found the cause.

It would also help if you provide a signature so people know the year and type of F-type you have.
