yes use the key in the remote fob to open drivers door manually. Then you will be able to open passenger door from inside the cabin so you can pop the bonnet and attach charger or jump cables

There's a phrase I never use on the forum .....

Dead battery, doors locked-unlock.jpg

I recommend you also read the guidance on jump starting and/or charging the battery. Several members with recent and current Jaguar models have fried sensitive electronics by using the wrong technique.

Probably too late, but the emergency key is useless and the aluminum “handle” just bends, I found if you reinforce it with a flat blade screwdriver inside the channel, of the little key “handle” you have more luck

My remote has been a bit wonky of late, so I tried my emergency key recently and it didn't work, wondered if it was just me. Pretty silly to make the darn thing so flimsy...

I just tried a little test, and it seems you have to push the blade in past a "detente", about 1/4" further in after it first stops. Without this extra push it didn't turn at all, but with the extra push it started to turn a bit both ways, and when I turned it clockwise (towards the front of the car, on a RHD car where the key hole is under the RH / driver's door handle) the car alarm went off.
Tried it three times, same result each time. Dunno if that means I was successfully unlocking the car or not as the noise was too much to bear so I immediately unlocked it with the other fob!

yep when I had to use mine I found getting the key properly inserted to be the biggest issue and getting it back out again. Lubricated the lock which seemed to help

With my XKR, I ran into the classic dead battery inside the trunk puzzle. On the X100, there is a hidden-in-plain-sight hole for the tibbe key to operate the trunk manually. Nobody ever uses this, and as a result the lock tightens up over the years and becomes inoperable--you can get yourself in a fix. I soaked the lock in WD-40 and had to carefully work the lock for several minutes before it loosened up to become smooth. The X100 forum wisdom is to lubricate and work that lock peridocially to prevent lock-outs.

Deja-vu, all over again.

My battery died when i used a Bluetooth dongle in the OBD port. I jump started the car and drove for around 1 hour and the battery was back to normal.

Sorry, but it was not back to normal after an hour of alternator charging. If you never need the battery capacity, you will never know it, but once you have discharged the battery, getting it back to normal is a little more involved.
