If I had to guess what this thread was about, I would say you went to Costco for tires and they told you they couldn't install anything but run-flats because you don't have a spare tire. If you show them the tire repair kit / pump in your car, they will drop the demand for run-flats and install inflatable tires. Don't ask me how I know ......

I have a related question: Wheels don't have to be different for runflats or non-funflats anymore, correct? I HATE those tires. Didn't know the F-Type came with RFs, but apparently they do. I just hope the wheels didn't have to be made heavier to handle runflats vs non-RFs. Thank you.

I have never read or heard of the F-Type coming standard with run-flats, not even the latest models, so I doubt it is true.

Agree with Oz. F-Types did not come standard with Run Flats. In all my time, I have never seen an F-Type with run flats. I'm sure someone has put run flats on, but that is the excption.

I've been through 2 sets of new tires with Costco - never had them suggest run flats. The guys were just thrilled to be working on a F-Type. They even remembered me and gave a shout out when I walked through the store, months later.

I specifically avoided buying another BMW because they come with RFTs.
So, I bought an Audi, only to find out subsequently that it came with "quiet" tires (P-Zero).
The RTFs could not be repaired, but neither could the Audi tires because the interior is foam-filled.
In theory both types can be repaired depending on the damage location.
In practice, nobody wants to do it because of adhesion issues and liability.
I would never intentionally buy an RTF or a quiet tire
Just got the Audi tires changed over to Continental DWS06+ - plus I kept a full-size P-Zero as a temporary spare.
Hopefully will not be needed!!

I always avoid run flat tires.

They make any car handle worse.
They have a much harsher ride.
They are more expensive than regular tires.
They are difficult to repair and/or are not repairable.
If you need a quick replacement for one tire they are often not in stock.
From my experience they wear out faster.
