Default DRL dash control knob

I've been trying to figure out what the DRL dask control lknob does. The owners manual does not explain it. The graphic on the knob is unhelpful, and I can't find any thread explaining it either.
You can push it in to pop out the knob and turn it CW or CCW, what does it control?
Anyone?

I don't even know what DLR stands for.

He said DRL not DLR, and DRL usually stands for Daytime Running Lights.
No such control on my MY 2015, the DRLs simply come on automatically once you start the engine and put the car in gear, with zero adjustment possible.
The only thing I can see which comes close is the rotary interior lighting brightness dial which spins up/down not CW or CCW and does not push in or out.
Maybe things are different on the MY 2016?

Yes "daytime running lights". There's a knob on the lower left hand side dash next to the fog light control. The owners manual mentions it but does not explain what it does. Very strange.

My owners manual talks about some countries having the DRL automatic, my arsey guess is that this is to control them if they arent auto. Mine is turned fully clockwise, I havent fiddled with it to see what happens with it CCW or half.

Could this actually be an adjustment for the dash display brightness?
BTW, how do you control the dash display brightness?

On my MY2015 it is a small rotary dial (but in the vertical orientation) down low by the fog light and hatch switches, number 20 on the attached page from my Quick Start guide. Of course this is for a RHD car so on a LHD it will be on the other side.

Thanks for suggesting looking at the quick start guide.
The owners manual for MY16 suggests it's a DRL control knob but the quick start guide says it's "instrument illumination" so I think that's the answer.
Cheers

Mystery solvered!
I hope.
Easy enough to check, just park up in the dark and twiddle that dial and you should see the interior lighting brightness change.

How many F Type owners does it take to screw in a light bulb? It appears all of us.

On my 2021 the knob controls the dashboard illumination and I assume the function where you can push it in is to keep the setting from being accidentally changed. I did notice a quirk about the control and wrote about it last November:

Yep I tested it - dash lights! I suppose that it is where the dash light knob usually is was a bit of a tell...

The rheostat control lock (pushing the button in) for dash lighting has been a standard feature on Jaguars for more than 20 years!
