Default Engine Light Persistently on

Hello everyone. I have a 2015 F Type R that I bought in May of this year. It had 10,000 miles on it. It runs great, but the engine light keeps coming back . I've taken it to the dealer several times and every time they have changed an oxygen sensor. This car has 4 oxygen sensors and one has already been replaced twice! They checked the gas cap and it is OK. Taking it back next week when I will leave the car with the dealer's service department and they are to check everything related to the engine light. I was wondering if any of you have experienced something like this. The car runs great otherwise.

Without knowing the codes behind the CEL we’d just be speculating wildly...

There's guessing and edumacated guessing. Most of the time we practice the latter. Most of the time.

I had the light come on a few months back.
Turned out to be a lambda probe that gave readings outside the norm. I had been stuck in very slow trafic for a while when the light came on, and this spesific error code don't clear aotomaticly if the readings go back to normal.

The code was cleared by the workshop, and have not come back (yet.. ).

ps: I thought the V8 had 6 oxygen sensors in total?

Unfortunately I don't know what the error code was.

No...we speculate wildly only after we know the code(s).

6 sensors actually, and without a code it's only a guess

Understand not having the code. I was told it had 4 sensors, 6 seems to be what everyone agrees upon. Anyway, I'll be taking it back to the dealer this coming Friday and will post the results once diagnosed.

How many sensors is not the key to your issue. Take a quick trip to Autozone and they check the code for free. It would help a lot to know the code.
If you have a Harbor Freight store nearby, grab one of these https://www.harborfreight.com/zr4-ob...der-63808.html
Cheap way to know what is actually happening

"I've taken it to the dealer several times and every time they have changed an oxygen sensor. This car has 4 oxygen sensors and one has already been replaced twice!"

It appears the CEL is from a bad oxygen sensor code. Next time you take it to the dealer have them check the fuel pressure. Low fuel pressure (failing fuel pump, blocked fuel filter, ect.) can cause the engine to run lean which can throw a bad oxygen sensor code.

Clearing DTC's will turn off the CEL but it will illuminate again after a set number of drive cycles if the cause of the fault has not been rectified.

As has been posted already with varying degrees of knowledge and/or helpfulness, the CEL is triggered by a specific subset of DTC's. Without knowing the actual error codes, determining the cause is largely guesswork and this is a very expensive approach to troubleshooting.

Modern Jaguars use extended 4 + 2 DTC's. For example Powertrain faults in the format Pxxxx yy. Any scantoool will read the core (Pxxxx) code but only Jaguar SDD or equivalent diagnostics can read the extended (yy) codes. Assuming you are using a Jaguar Dealer, they must be able to provide the codes as justification for diagnosing the fault and replacing the same sensor twice.

Default Engine Light Persistently on UPDATE !!!!

After 4 oxygen sensors changed and leaving the car at the dealer's service department for three days the tech found that the reason for the "check engine" light was a faulty Carbon Canister, part # T2R15149. Part has been replaced and ... so far, so good.

They did not specified, nor I asked. They said it was giving them 'an out of range code." The receipts indicates there was a leak, so I assume it was cracked.
