F-Type CarFax Questions
Hello, all!
I am in the process of possibly purchasing a 2015 F-Type R with only 19,000 something miles on it. I just bought the CarFax report online & I have a couple of questions maybe some of you out there could answer.
The most notable things that stuck out to me on the CarFax was:
Water pump replaced at 14,000 miles. How serious is this, or is this fairly common?
Headliner replaced at 17,000 miles. Thought I heard once that the headliners could be problematic. Correct me if I’m wrong!
Front door trim panel replaced/repaired. Not quite sure what this means. It was done twice. Any ideas?
Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you, all!

My guess is the owner of your Jag is very finicky. For an 8 y/o car with 19K+ miles currently, headliner replaced, door trim panel replaced 2x and H2O pump replaced at 14K??? That is beyond me. What does the car look like? If the car looks and smells like NEW and in immaculate condition, there you have it, the car is well taken cared for.

- Not common, but not unheard of. A bit labor intensive, so you're happy someone else paid for it.
- It would have been nice if they'd replaced the coolant lines while they were there (a more common issue), but probably didn't have and issue.
Headliner replaced at 17,000 miles. Thought I heard once that the headliners could be problematic.
- I've seen it come up on the forum before, but not often. Do a "Search this forum" for headliner from the main page for details.
Front door trim panel replaced/repaired. Not quite sure what this means. It was done twice.
- I wonder if this was related to speaker rattle. Other than in that context, I don't recall it coming up.
I don't see any of these as showstoppers on a 9 year old car, but I always recommend getting a PPI.

Thanks for your responses. The car looks to be in immaculate shape. Now here’s the part I’m really trying to understand…
The last reported odometer reading was 18,213 but that was back in 2020!
Since then, the CarFax has no further details. Only a small handful of reports stating that the car’s registration was issued or renewed.
If I end up purchasing the vehicle, my first stop will be my local Jaguar dealership for an inspection just to be safe.
