Default F-Type R: tire pressure at delivery?

Love the car, but I noticed some vibration at 70-75, on the highway. Similar to a out of balance tire, but not consistent.

Before taking it in, I checked the cold air pressure. 50+ PSi in each tire.

Per the book and door sticker, it should be 36.

Anyone have a similar issue?
I haven't got back out on the highway yet to see if that cured the problem.

Yes, mine was delivered with pressures in the mid-40s. Lower them to 36 per the door sticker.

definitely NOT 50+ PSI. they probably inflated it incorrectly because they have a 50 psi stamped on the tire sidewall. But that's unrelated to what you should have your tires pressure set to.
36 PSI is the manufacturer recommendation.
If you drive your car very aggressively (hard braking, cornering, etc.) you'll get more performance if you actually lower the pressure to something around 31psi cold (since it'll heat up more from the aggressive driving). That's per Jaguar track day recommendations.

So yes, let some air out to get it back down to 36psi cold.

Yeah, I think 50 was the max. The car being new, I haven't driven it hard yet, but even with the cool weather I was probably picking up 5-6 PSI on the highway.

I hope this solves the vibration issue.

I understand that cars shipped from overseas are often shipped with over-inflated tires to help prevent flat spotting etc during the long voyage. It may just be that your dealer forgot to reduce the pressure during the PDI.

Interesting I knew there had to be a reason.

I've picked up previous cars with 50psi in the tires. Sloppy dealer prep to not check that.

My F bounced all over the place when I picked it up until I quickly realized that the tire pressure was ridiculously high. I was surprised that the dealer never adjusted them during pre-delivery. I recently took delivery on a 2015 Grand Cherokee and had the same issue. I assume they over inflate them during production to test the seal... Just the same you would think that the dealers know this and would adjust them accordingly.

Yes, they know this, but as the old saying goes, "it's hard to get good help," and a service manager can't supervise an employee's every move. I suspect that checking tire pressures is low on a tech's PDI priority list.

This may be good way of determining how thorough the service department is at the delivering dealer. I'll pay attention when I take delivery.

I forgot to check when I picked up. After 1500 miles, all four corners are 36 dead on.

If you lost no air pressure since then, they would have inflated the tires to about 43 lbs.
