Hi, I've just joined as I'm trying to find out some info the on F Type interior rear view mirrors. (Specifically, I'm interested in using one in a different vehicle.)
Could someone please measure the size of the mirror face's width and height (i.e. the reflective surface dimensions)? I'm looking at the style shown in the attached picture- shaped like \____/ .
The pictured mirror is also a "Lowered windscreen & non electrochromatic" type. However, it doesn't appear to have the usual manual dimming tab underneath and looks to have the required sensors for an auto dimming mirror? So are they available with no auto dimming function? The part number is listed as T2R19000, which doesn't seem to match up with the common part numbers used to identify Jag mirrors.
My visible mirror dimensions are 9 3/4" (at its widest), 2 3/8" high. Mine has 3 homelink buttons on the bottom, nothing else. It's also filthy. Edit: different style from what you're asking about, I now see.
@Triumph202
My 2017 Base F-type 6MT has a rear view which looks very much like your photo.
It is 9” wide (outer dimension), and 2.75” tall (outer dimension)...
No buttons, just a photo eye, but no wires going to the vehicle side.
My car doesn’t have rear view camera, not homelink.

Reason: Additional info
Mine is shaped like the one in the OP's pic - essentially the curve follows the curve of the rear glass in the coupe. There isnt a massive amount of vision from these things anyway, and I've never been dazzled by the headlights of following cars. That said, I have tinted glass on mine. looking at this one on ebay though, it seems that they are all auto dimming https://www.ebay.com/itm/35349683693...0AAOSwmddgoANT
We also have the clearsight mirror in our XE which has a function to turn it into a screen for a camera mounted in the antenna. Great if you have boof headed kids in the back, though it is a struggle if you wear corrective lenses, in TV mode.

I think what you have is the electrochromatic auto dimming mirror. I suspect it has been mislabelled. Ask them to send you a picture of the electrical connections. If it has none then possible it has had it's electronics removed if second hand.

It's supposed to be brand new and another picture shows a wiring loom. I'll send them a message.
(The mirror I'm looking at replacing is around 10.75" wide (including the casing), but wider at the bottom which causes annoying blind spots.)

Then it is the auto-dimming one. Don't know it it helps you but this shape is exactly the same as looking out the back of the f-type and i love it for that. It is like having a new HDTV with a ultrathin bezel. All screen/rear vision view, with nothing extraneous shown on the sides when looking into it

I'm looking at fitting it in one of these.
Looking at the current 10.75" wide mirror, I could get away with a mirror as small as 7" wide. The rear window is tiny. That would then reduce the massive blind spot looking through the front windscreen, caused by the combo of a high seating position and the mirror width/ shape. The current mirror is also wider at the bottom which doesn't help- shaped like this /___\ . The shape of the F Type mirror would work a lot better.
The issue will be changing the Jag mount to match the Toyota type.
Looks like a lot of effort for very little reward.
I was thinking you had another jag and were able to make use of the same mounting plate and auto-dimming too. Changing mounts is going to be pain especially cross manufacturers so unless you can direct swap the ball and socket mounting point (ie : ball has to be exactly the same size) probably not worth doing. Can't see how you can change it any other way without the shroud looking out of place and ghetto.

Not really. There are massive blind spots (especially around left hand corners) and I don't particularly like having to move my head all the time (looking around the mirror) to check they're clear. I don't want to take out a cyclist or pedestrian.
Changing the mirror's mount via cutting and joining it midway on the mount's shaft would be the best way to adapt it. (If the ball size is different.) No cutting of the mirror's shroud would be required. It already has a Gentex auto dimming mirror standard, so the wiring is already there.
I'm viewing it as more of a project to improve the vehicle than an onerous task.
There are two different types of mirror in the f-type shape wise. The Coupe mirror is different to the convertible. I haven't seen any with manual dimming. The key features of the mirror are whether it comes with homelink (the three buttons underneath), and whether it comes with the camera for Auto High Beam assist and in some cases other functions in the later cars (road sign recognition). So if you want to drop one in a Yaris, its not just the windscreen mounts its also the wiring that you will need to address. Also later models don't have a rim around the mirror. As a previous poster said. A lot of effort.

I've checked out the wiring side of things in the Yaris. Auto headlights and the auto high beam are handled by sensors external to the auto dimming mirror. The operation of the auto dimming in the mirror itself uses the two inbuilt sensors in the front and rear of the mirror. I've been looking for Gentex made mirrors with those same in built sensors. Although the OEM Gentex in my Yaris has five wires coming from it, the vehicle loom plug only has two wires connected (which must be the power.)
I've seen those later model "frameless" mirrors, they do look nice.
Those little Yarises are a fantastic little car. I saw one modded with quad pipes and it looked amazing.
Yeah, it's funny to tell someone you've bought a Yaris and they immediately assume it's some under powered FWD boring econobox. Due to the way it was developed there are some foibles like a seat that's way too high and a massive mirror that blocks the windscreen out the windscreen if you're tall.

Response from the seller:
The information advertised regarding this mirror is from entering the part number into the official Jaguar parts catalogue so I would have to say it is correct according to that, as long as the part number on the label is correct.
