Default Fire extinguisher mount for 2018 R performance seats?

Anyone try to mount a fire extinguisher to a 2018 R performance seat? Both seats have a big plastic unit under front. No obvious place to mount a fire extinguisher.

As always...search is your friend....
there is a Jaguar device.....I bought a Bracketeer.com one...$50 or so as I recall, that mounts between the front of the seat mounts...only downside is limit on the forward movement of the seat which might limit hanging stuff from the back of the seat....(?)

I got the JLR kit, but put a slightly smaller extinguisher onto the bracket. Ingress and egress are difficult enough without kicking the fire extinguisher every time.

I believe the ‘19 seats are different, not sure about the ‘18 seats.

Sorry I didn’t mention I searched the forum, google, and jlr. Saw bracketeer but it will mean my 5’ 1” wife can’t move the seat forward. The my18 seats are different than prior and instead of a steel piece with two convenient holes, there is a plastic box-like thing that does not look suitable for mounting a fire extinguisher.

Was hoping I wasn’t the first guy with a 2018+ R who wants a fire extinguisher handy.

It’s there now, but after witnessing a guy rolling his car in front of me, and thankfully no fire,I want one easily reachable in the event I find myself in his situation. His car came to rest such that the only escape route was the trunk (sides wedged in and front blocked). If an Ftype did this and there was a fire, the occupant having access to a fire extinguisher could make a world of difference. I just checked a buddy’s 2015 R seats and the front bottom has that same plastic box thing, so the kit mentioned earlier is probably the ticket - I reached out to my service mgr to find out about ordering/installation.

thanks for all the replies!

Sorry to bring this up so late, but same issue. Did the search. Bracketeer is known to me but wanted to know if there is a better way (is the JLR unit able to be bought in the US...cannot find it).

TIA!

Copying my reply in the other fire extinguisher thread:

The Jaguar kit is T2R10328. It's for multiple models from 2006-on, so has two different brackets, hardware, and an extinguisher. The sheet that came with it does not have part numbers for the individual components in the kit.

Default My solution

My approach was somewhat simple. Fire extinguisher from Home Depot with bracket. I used heavy duty ties to the seat frame, avoiding the black box under the seat and secured the bracket up against the black box. Extinguisher can be quickly released from bracket, there is no movement of the extinguisher, but I only pulled 5g’s in my test (ha). It does restrict forward movement but it’s a passenger seat so it’s pretty much staying where it is. I always smirk when I see the three memory seat settings for the passenger. Up and down settings and seat back tilt are not affected. I feel better having the extinguisher up front rather than the boot.
