I am not sure if it is a 3stage finish, but Firesand and British Racing Green (and a couple of others) were extra-cost Xirallic finishes -and the Xirallic component is what give these colours their remarable depth and sparkle. Xirallic is no longer available, so certain colurs (such as the BRG) had to be reformulated. I think the 2016 model year was the last for these optional Xirallic colours.

I believe the Xirallic colors were only available in ‘14 & ‘15. The BRG on my MY16 doesn’t seem as deep as those early models.

What I do know is that BRG on our '17 F Pace was a no cost option, but it was listed as $4,500 option on our '20. And if you wanted satin instead of gloss, it was another $4,500.
The window sticker On my car lists the Firesand as a $600 metallic option.
the sales brochure i have lists
3 standard solid paints
7 xirallic paint options
3 metallic paint options
I heard after the first year they increased the cost of the optional paints quite a bit.
As available right now, what is now known as Madagascar Orange and BRG are both on the SV palette and are tri or quad coats. The orange being "ChromaFlair" and BRG being Xirallic. I can't find any information on changes to the formulations over the years.
I have to correct something I said before about Firesand and BRG: I have in front of me the catalogues for Canadian-market F-Types for 2014. 2015 and 2016.
First, Firesand was a metallic formulation and NOT a Xirallic (my error); second, the spectacular Xirallic formulations were only available for 2014 and 2015 model year cars - none for 2016 onwards. The Xirallic paints were British Racing Green, Italian Racing Red, Black Amethyst, Ultimate Black, Indigo (2014), Dark Sapphire (2015), and Stratus Grey. The names of some of the colours remained the same in 2016 - but the formulations were metallic, not Xirallic. They lost a bit of the zing....
2015 British Racing Green:
You can see the specks of colour in the Xirallic, below:
Yup. See #9 above. The Xirallic formulation was used for Stratus Grey until and including the 2015 model year. It was discontinued because the Xirallic component was no longer available (a victim of the Japan earthquake and tsunami which destroyed the Merck-owned factory...).
The replacement formulations get their (less opulent) sparkle from mica (which Jaguar has used for decades) or traditional metallic flakes.
Xirallic appears to be available again and I wonder if it is used in the optional (and expensive) SVR colours. The price for optional Xirallic colours varied from market to market.
Xirallic is not to be confused with Cyrillic, which is the alphabet script attributed to St Cyril and St Methodius and used by several countries associated with Orthodoxy (Ukraine, Russia, Bulgaria....).
