Default Found silver kitty

Leaving my office yesterday I found this silver kitty. The owner bought it new. Still looks new inside and out.

That car looks so small next to a modern one!

The contrast in size between the two is really stunning. I'll bet a lot of the width of current cars has to do with the side impact protection, which was pretty much non existent in an E Type.
I am reminded of a friend who had a 1974 Triumph TR-6. I was driving it one time and noticed that I could touch the top of the door on the passenger side with my outstretched arm. That was one narrow cockpit and I have a 33" sleeve length and not gorilla arms !

+1 All new cars are wider (and the bodywork is higher on the sides).

Just look at the differences between the original Mini and todays!

LOL. Same reason that I never needed power windows in the Spitfire I restored. You could reach EVERYTHING.

++++++++++++++

But, I like to look on both sides of the argument. Today's wider cars (and the included wider windscreens) have made room for other stuff, like radar detectors, phone mounts, GPS...
