Default Frightening Children and Small Animals, and Setting off Car Alarms (MotorTrend)

"Over the course of nearly three weeks, the exhaust note brought more than half a dozen children to tears, while several small dogs, some cats, and smaller mountain wildlife ran in fear. The F-Type R Coupe’s exhaust also startled an elderly gentleman in the car next to me as I revved the engine while waiting for the light to change."

I guess I've just been around too many louder cars but the F-Type, while definitely attention getting, is nowhere near as loud as the article makes it out to be.

Seems like he likes it though. The noise can be a bit startling. That's why I like it.

Says my wife during her first ride "is that crackling and popping sound normal?" Replies me, "no, babe, it's not normal...it's special."

Does it get louder after you break it in, EX: over 1,000 miles?

I just have about 500 on the clock? I find it to be very tamed in "silent" mode. (still better than any 911 ever made with the valves closed)

I almost pulled the trigger on a 2015 M6 Coupe, but the exhaust is laughable! After driving the F Type R, i felt like a 18 old in Panama City, FL.

The exhaust sound of the V8 F-Type is a big part of what makes them so special! That manly (I have *****!) sound. There's nothing I don't like about my R!

I'm at 5k miles, haven't noticed it getting louder/quieter with mileage.

I heard that from a couple people the first time they either rode with me or drove beside me. I'm stealing your line.

I don't have the "R" mine is a S, and the sound has increased now that is at 1K. If you really wanna make this baby pop and crackle, turn on dynamic mode, move the shift to sport and you are making an orchestra riding on the freeway.
