Default Gas Mileage 2015 f type coupe

Was just curious what you guys are getting for gas mileage/ #miles until empty after you fill up? I know it can vary with model/options, so I was interested in the base 3L 6 cylinder. I have a lot of short distance driving and get about 18mpg and approx 300-310 miles until empty after fill up.

In a base convertible, I'm getting 23.5, which consists of about 70% highway, 30% city miles. That's a cumulative average of about 1000 miles, since I re-set the computer. I do drive in dynamic mode all the time, and use the paddle shifters 90% of the time, so eco-mode is never operational. I would also say my driving in on the "spirited" side.

My trip from Denver to Los Angeles, 1200 miles (went up to the grand canyon), consisted of long stints at 20mph to cruising at 90, to some high speed testing when in the clear. My final average when I got home was 25.2mpg.

If I take it to the highway it is almost always at 25mpg. Around city driving has been netting me around 20mpg. When I go into the canyons and push it I get about 12mpg.

Coupe R and all readings from the dash. So there might be a margin of error if that isn't correct.

Keep in mind that fuel economy during the (sometimes mythical) break-in period will not be as good as after break-in.

Just got back from 1,000 mile road trip. Speed was usually between 70 and 90 mph, some passing ended up @ 103. I could not believe I was getting over 25 mpg in a 550 hp vehicle. This is the best mileage of any vehicle I have ever owned!

I was seeing this sort of mileage in my R as well, but I don't really believe the computer so when I take it out in the spring I'm going to do some manual checks over a few tank's of fuel.

That's very true, when you're just having fun. I've seen 17 fairly routinely in the V6, when I'm playing with the car.

I also use the car to commute, and I was curious to see what a 1000 mile average would be in my 60-mile daily, DC rush-hour, round-trip, which did also include some playing around. But, that's not possible in heavy traffic most of the time. That's where I recorded the 23.5 mpg average.

I also get significantly worse mileage when I'm using the paddles as opposed to letting it shift itself.

I know what you mean. I like the sound of the engine so much, and I really prefer paddle shifting, but when I do that, I find myself keeping the revs up to hear the pleasing exhaust note.

I just wanted to see what kind of gas mileage was possible, so often, when usually in heavy traffic during my commute, I try to emulate the way it shifts automatically with the paddles. It does make quite a difference keeping the revs down.

As a counterpoint to my admittedly appalling 15.5 average I just did a round trip over the weekend to our lake place (about 360 miles round trip). I left the car in D, in cruise and in non-dynamic mode for most of the trip and it was clear that the mileage would have been well into the mid to late 20s for that journey. Not exactly Prius worrying, but not at all bad for a car with a big blown V8. I can say without hesitation, though, that the other trips which contributed to my 15.5 average were considerably more fun! Best part of this one was that my youngest son who was with me is just getting into classic-era David Bowie, so I had a lot of fun introducing him to some of my playlists.
