Gee...where have I seen this car before?
Yeah they are my favorite ferrari (other than the 599GTB which I reckon is horny as hell), but when I recently saw one in the metal for the first time I didnt think that it put my car to shame at all
Nice Ferrari's are car-****. They are just like the perfect women you experience on-line. These are fantasy cars for uber-wealthy who take insecurity to its limits. After all, it's bad enough in a F-type...imagine the responses one might collect tooling around in something like this!
Was on a club drive 2 or so years ago with one in white.
People quietly said the exterior was better on my 2016 v6. Cleaner and better looking. Everyone saw the copycat nature of the Roma. To be fair, call our car an Ian Callum car....Astin Martin could sort of say the same about the F type and even the later xkr if you think about it....so I think in terms of Maranello showing respect for Ian Callum.
On the interior, the Ferrari people are even more limited than the JLR people by Fiat parts (JLR parts are to me actually better). The computer thing in the middle looks like a triple thick low res ipad. It was slow (may be better now).
And then the haptics on the wheel. The owner was even annoyed by that. Openly annoyed.
It did sound nice but I actually prefer the v6 stock .....f1 sound.
So, they are really nice cars but they sort of show the world how nice the F type is - and confirm the F type is timeless. Given the price, I'd never buy one - I'd get a type 7 or whatever if I could first - and even a gt3 first for the engine/stick....not a Roma. It had a big yellow emblem on the side....the "brand" was really a lot of the point. Suspect they drive great, but I'd rather keep my dollars for other things. My next car may just be an old LR again....I am enjoying slow too....and function.

Really nice cars, saw one at a meet also. It's a classic design/proportion that has been around for years, the F-Type along with many other cars are just following that design, no one is copying the F-Type necessarily. Credit to Ian on his version of this with our F-Types, it's all in the subtle way his design comes together to strike a nice balance of classy + sporty. The Ferrari is really well proportioned too, much more on the sporty side.

Agree, a loop of classic styling proportions. I should say that given the E type, the F type is a remarkable next gen - carries the language but is not so derivative as to be boring - the 928 doesn't to me look as nice....it is (for me) a lot about the curvaceous look without looking silly (not mach V). They are all related, all great cars, but for the money, I would call the F type the best of the bunch. The E is way nicer to look at than the GTO imho. Enzo apparently agreed if you believe the quote so often used about the E type.

I feel the same, the F-Type is a fantastic implementation of a classic profile. They did a really nice job, and I still can't wrap my head around why these cars plummet in price so much. Regarding best of the bunch, the F-Type is good..... but my nod goes to the classic 250GTO

I'd not be driving one if the rest of the market wasn't so stupid as to not value the F-type for what it really is. ☺️ What I can't really understand is how people would still not buy one considering the price you can pick up one for now. Sometimes I wonder if I should get another one just for good measure!
For me the king of this shape is Aston Martin. Then the F-type. Never been into Maserati’s offering.
The Roma? I mean, obviously it’s an incredible car but I am sincere in saying that I prefer the F-type. Hard to compare the 2 in some ways given the disparity in price, but agnostic of price I genuinely feel the F-type is more tastefully done.
If I was in a position to lay down huge money like that it would be an Aston Martin all the way. Not even a thought. More specifically, a really high spec Vantage.
The other factor that probably is shaping my thinking is the snobby culture and approach to sales that comes with the Ferrari brand. I find it ridiculous. Much like Jay Leno, even if I had oodles of cash I’m not sure I could reward Ferrari with a sale given their arrogance. Honestly, I find it disgusting…A real turn off…Porsche has been heading more and more in that direction these days too…They can keep their cars for all I care…Annoys me…

The one designed by Ian Callum? Who then went on to design the F-Type, fixing the "mistakes" he'd made on the Aston?

That it's so similar to the F-Type shows what a genius Ian Callum is and what a timeless design the F-Type has. The Vantage would probably not look the way it does if it wasn't for Callum's involvement with both Aston Martin and Jaguar.
