Those grooves typically caused by grit/sand getting between rotor and the pads. More likely to get worse over time. Doesn't really affect braking until a new set of pads are installed. The pads then need to conform to the uneven rotor before they have full grab again. The right solution is to turn the rotors when the pads are replaced, but I'll bet dollars to donuts that the mechanic will insist on rotor replacement since any cutting will make the rotor fall outside of manufacturer's tolerances. This, at least, is the case with BMW products. I suspect the Jag tolerances are similarly tight.

I don't think you have a rotor wear problem. It looks like a visual artifact (exaggerated contrast) of the special effects used in the photos. If you look closely, those same artifacts make it look like you need some repainting on certain panels, but I'm sure that's not the case. :-)
